Which faction do you think is the best and why?

I'm a big fan of the Seleucids. If you can survive a tricky beginning when your empire is strung out with an enormous border and surrounded on four sides by enemies, and your desert cities refuse to grow, you'll be fine. Access to Egypt and the Nile delta on one side, Asia minor (with its Creeshun arshers) on the other, loads of wonders on your doorstep... before long your economy will be rocketing.

And once you get lots of money and plenty of big cities, you can start building the best balanced armies in the game. At the limit of your tech tree you've got awesome phalanx infantry AND legions which are a match for praetorians and urbans; the usual archers and artillery; plus, the best cavalry in the game - companions and cataphracts.

Oh, and then there's the elephants. And scythed chariots if you can be bothered with them.

The only units your missing are skirmishers and horse archers, but those are easy to find as mercenaries.

one of the easiest factions is the britons, especially playin a realism mod, because you can just sit on your little island building up the coppers & advancing your techs. apart from a few port blockades i never had an invasion, which gave me time to mass a huge army & do a blitzkreig thruogh europe ~D

Easiest faction.....greeks. Tricky beginning, with your empire split up across the world, but once you get going, the money rolls in, and nothing can stop you!!!

None for me i love playing all of the, perhaps i like some more but i enjoy all..

Seleucids are pretty easy. The key is to trade right and ally with ur neighbours. Then attack Susa to make Parthia semi-impotent. Make Cavalry Stables ur priority in Antioch, because of :gasps: Oilouphant. Some ppl tech up to Phalanx or SS legionaries. (LoL @ SS).

I just go for elephant, cos tell me how in the crap r u gonna attack Egypt with massed condensed spearmen with them shootin their arrows at u with the rate of vulcan machine gun and patriot missile accuracy and range?? Not to mention those stinking chariots prancing around ur troops.

Solution is just to charge ur War or Cat elephants at them and be over with.
