Hi all,
Just getting back into MTW & VI after purchasing RTW, and being disappointed with the frame rates and playability. I'll post here from time to time, and have quite a large and working knowledge of current and historical military tactics (enlisted in the Marines), Medieval and Pre-Medieval times, as well as computers. Hopefully I can contribute something to the community.

Just wondering... what are the latest updates/mods/must have downloads/documents/etc. for MTW and VI? Does anyone have a strategy guide (I think it's made by BradyGames... I used to have one, but sold it on eBay a while back)

Thanks in advance.

*wave* Welcome

I'm about to return to MTW as well after giving RTW a fair chance. A good link for both a good comprehensive beginners guide and a very usefull unit guide try:

The update you need is the VI 2.01 patch, it solves the 56-year bug, the sideswipe-exploit and a number of other things. There are no mods you need to have, but may I recommend MedMod 2.04? It makes only a few slight tweaks to the units and faction, but due to these and other changes the AI suddenly becomes a lot more of a challenge (there is a newer version of MedMod, but this does change the game significantly). For documents, look into the MTW guide forum: it contains most of the information available about MTW. The download section of the Org also contains many documents, but I reckon quite a number of these are pre-VI and out-dated. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.
