Hey

I did a search for this thread, but didnt find it.

Im playing as Macedon, and after 30-40 turns, I suddenly got Cyrenaica. With 3 Peasants and 3 Militia Hoplites. I hadnt sent one unit or such down to Africa, and all the sudden, Cyrene was mine....whats up? How could that happen? Ive seen it happen a few times, when Ive been other nations, like Scipii.

Anyone know why this could happen? Some historical trigger?

Every town is programmed to have a "founder" - I guess in this case Cyrene was found by Macedon. So when there is a revolt against the new conquerer, the town goes back to the hand of its founder - that's you. (Cyrene belongs to the Greek culture.)

That's happened to me. I noticed one turn that crete and salona had suddenly and mysteriously become greek....

Ive seen this happen alot of times when the city hasnt been conquered and i think it could be scripted so that macedon get it.

Cyrene was a Greek colony btw

I had a game the other day where I was playing Parthia and in successive turns I took Thaspus and Carthage from the Scipii.

I had captains in charge and neither was up to the task of quelling the cities.

After the revolt, Thapsus was given to back the Scipii and Carthage to, of all people, the Numidians.

In my first scipii campaign, i left Macedon alone while I went after the remaining Greeks and Pontus in Asia. When I finally turned on Macedon a wayward fleet noticed that they (macedon) had cyrene. So I sent a fleet /w army, and told the army to move to the city (took em 3 turns). By the time they got there, it was Egyptian again, and then I had to fight Egypt before Thrace, which was alot harder, but much more rewarding.
