About screen resolutions and other graphic options

I've searched about this topic in this forum but failed. So I hope this is not duplication of another guy's thread.

When I changed my graphic card to GeForce 6600GT I was expecting to play HUGE unit size and see cooler graphical edge than my older VGA provided. But screen resolution's are maxed only to 1024*768*32 and AA to "Lower". I emailed to tech support but they replied, "this setting is recommended, don't expect higher". :furious3:

But I found the thread in official tech support forum written by other guy.

Solution is simple. edit "descr_auto_optimise_options.txt".
I have changed every graphic resolutions to my monitor's maximum resoultion and maxed any other settings. Then I can conveniently *choose* the setting myself in option. Why CA didn't let the users choose these settings? Didn't they know how much performance difference between 128MB VGA cards? Simply categorize VGA cards by video memory is absolutely not right.

Please somebody index this guy's thread for other newbies like myself, who seldom go to official forum.

Then they should have done more accurate profiling.
Besides, I have never experienced that kind of *precaution* in other games. Usually I try games at higher settings than I think optimal for my system, then lower the setting if it doesn't work well. That should be users' choice. Not the developers to worry about.
