No mine was always like that and it does not go away. Is there something wrong with my graphics settings?

try turning everything to low, and uppdate your drivers.
if it works, work your way up the settings.

I have that happened once. I went to Windows webpage to download directX and reinstall it to solve my problem.

I just resize my screen (down one, and then back up) and it clears the black for a turn.

If you used the cheat code it will do that, you need to try turn cheat code on and then off again, then restart RTW, that worked for me

Well no offence but can i get a more informed opinion like Maltz's for example. I've already tried all that stuff. I've played the game for 3 months. No need to dumb anything down for me. Just give me a procedure that could work.

Thanx ~

Having AA on can stuff up your screenshots, making you see only black, maybe you have the opposite. Try turning AA off...also, make sure you don't have something set on in your video card main control panel (accessed off the desktop) and a conflicting setting in game.

good luck

I assume by AA you mean anti-aliasing. If so i have it on Disabled.

I have a better idea. Could you post a picture of your settings. No one will mind. I'm sure other people have this problem.

i can't post a pic atm, as i'm away from home, but i do have another idea. Try 'automatically detect settings' and see if it works then.
