Come on Lu, you can't possibly think that Zhou Yu could beat anybody, he's my favorite character but even I don't believe that he could beat anyone. Lu Bu was a great warrior regardless of his position in both DW's.

Well although he didn't have any rounds with any tiger warriors, but he was claimed to have warrior skills and advisor's skills, therefore he has been classified as good fighting skills and good talents.

U have NO FACTS to back what u say, so u just shouldnt say it. First of all Zhou Yu was more of a stratigest not a strong guy. He prolly couldnt even swing the Blue Dragon 10 times!!!! He wasnt strong at all, i read a long passage on him, and i said that he wasnt strong, but he was kinda smart. The only thing he every did was with the help of Pang Tong, to talk Cao Cao into, attaching his navy 2gether. He didnt even think of it on his own!

Lu Meng

zhou yu didnt need pang tong! remember: pang tong=shu zhou yu=WU. different clans! and zhou yu was the smartest! guan yu wasnt the smartst! he was actually quite STUPID!

It was Zhou Yu idea, but he needs Pang Tong to go meet with Cao Cao and make Cao Cao believe that the idea will benefit Cao Cao's troops. So the credit will be shared, 50% for Zhou Yu who got the good idea and 50% for Pang Tong who made Cao Cao uses the idea.

Zhou Yu and Pang Tong are equally good strategists. Lu Su recommended Pang Tong to Sun Quan after Zhou Yu died, but Sun Quan didn't use Pang Tong. Lu Su then recommended Pang Tong to Liu Bei, hope that Pang Tong can help both Wu and Shu.

In the three leaders, Cao Cao, Liu Bei and Sun Quan, only Cao Cao treated Pang Tong with true respect from the beginning. Unfornately for Cao Cao, that makes him fell for Zhou Yu strategic plot.

Nope, Zhou Yu and Zhuge Liang never have any war in speech, they are both have the same personalities, although different talents.

Zhuge Liang was specialised in politics, inventions, music, war strategies and taosist teachings.

Zhou Yu is specialised in war strategies, music, commander, sword fencing, hand to hand combat.

This means that each of them have different abilties, where zhou is the general type and zhuge liang is the advisor type.

Also it stated that Zhou Yu never died from Zhuge Liang speech, since he is as clam as Zhuge Liang how can little talks get rid of his life. He actually died from sickness during his expedition to Yi Zhou.

HAHAHAHAHAHA LOOK AT THIS INFO I GOT OF ZHOU YU!!!!!!!!
Full Name:
Zhou Gongjin
Life Span:
35 years (AD 175-210)
Wife:
Lady Qiao(younger)
Warlords Served:
Sun Ce, Sun Quan
Officers Killed:
Cai He
Cause of Death:
Arrow wound and anguish

Perhaps the most well known character for the Wu kingdom, he is the sworn brother of Sun Ce. Just before Sun Ce passed away, he told his younger brother Sun Quan to turn to Zhou Yu for advise on external affairs. Holding the appointment of Commander-in-Chief, he was one of the key figures for the events in the battle preparation, the actual battle of Chibi and shortly its aftermath.
Spurned into war with Cao Cao by Zhuge Liang's recitation of a poem whereby Zhuge Liang mentioned in the poem in the poem that one of Cao Cao's main intention of annexing the Wu kingdom is the possession of two beauties (See women's page on the Qiao sisters). Though Zhou Yu had the assistance of Zhuge Liang, he soon realised that he is no match for Zhuge Liang in terms of wits. Such a man like Zhuge Liang may prove to be a dangerous foe later to the Wu kingdom. Intially Zhou Yu tried to tap Zhuge Liang's talents for the benefit of the Wu kingdom by sending Zhuge Liang's elder brother Zhuge Jin to go and persuade Zhuge Liang to serve Sun Quan instead of Liu Bei. However Zhuge Liang could not be swayed leaving Zhou Yu no choice but to get rid of Zhuge Liang.

In order to put Zhuge Liang to death through proper means so as to prevent discontent among his men and mockery, Zhou Yu gave Zhuge Liang the assignment of producing one hundred thousand arrows in ten days time. However Zhuge Liang managed to produce the arrows in three days time thus greatly astonished Zhou Yu and this made Zhou Yu feel inferior compared to Zhuge Liang. This add up to Zhou Yu's urge to kill Zhuge Liang even more. Zhou Yu's attempt to kill Zhuge Liang was foiled when Zhuge Liang escaped under the protection of Zhao Yun after summoning the southeast wind needed to turn the tide of war against Cao Cao. (The southeast wind was predicted by Zhuge Liang and not any socery craft)

The defeat of Cao Cao's forces at Chibi gave Zhou Yu the opportunity to capture the territories of Jingzhou as war booties. Zhou Yu settled with an agreement with Liu Bei that should he fail to capture the city of Nanjun, Liu Bei would be given the chance to attack it. However Zhuge Liang had anticipated that Zhou Yu's forces would be repelled by Cao Ren's defending forces. By letting Zhou Yu assault Nanjun and attriting the defenders, the attack by Zhao Yun would be easier. During the attack on Nanjun, Zhou Yu was wounded by a poisoned arrow and his army suffered a defeat.

While Zhou Yu was away trying to capture the city of Nanjun, Liu Bei sent forth his army to capture the other various cities of Jingzhou. In the end, the entire Jingzhou fell into Liu Bei's hands. This infuriates Zhou Yu a great deal and this aggravated his wound and he fainted. Thus Zhou Yu put his Jingzhou conquest plans on hold for the mean time and returned to Wu kingdom to recuperate. After Zhou Yu has almost fully recovered he came up with a plan to regain Jingzhou by tricking Liu Bei to come to the Wu kingdom for the 'marriage' with Sun Quan's sister. The plan is to kill Liu Bei while he is enroute to the Wu kingdom. Again Zhuge Liang foiled his scheme and the marriage though intially kept a secret was blown up and much of the population of the Wu kingdom know about it. Since the plan has some somewhat failed since it is no longer a secret, a slight adjustment was made by Zhou Yu. Since Liu Bei cannot be killed, he decided to trap Liu Bei in the Wu kingdom instead. A grand palace was soon built for Liu Bei and his newlywed bride and the intention is to shower Liu Bei with luxuries and comfort that he would not leave the place.

The plan is such that without their lord, Guan Yu, Zhang Fei and most of the officers and the army would soon disintegrate. Such a situation would present a prefect opportunity to invade and recover the territories of Jingzhou. Unfortunately the plan to trap Liu Bei did not last long and before long Liu Bei escaped back to Jingzhou together with his wife. Zhou Yu led men to intercept and kill Liu Bei upon hearing news that Liu Bei had begun making his way back to Jingzhou. On landing on the shores of Jingzhou across the river, Zhou Yu was beaten beaten by Liu Bei's generals. Upon retreat, Liu Bei's soldiers shouted out that Zhou Yu lost a women and his men. Infuriated and aggravated again, his arrow wound reopened once more and Zhou Yu fainted.

All these subsequent plans being foiled by Zhuge Liang had driven Zhou Yu to the very limit. Pressured by Sun Quan to regain the Jingzhou territories, Zhou Yu proposed that he will attack and conquer Xichuan for Liu Bei in exchange for Liu Bei's return of Jingzhou. The proposal is a pretext whereby when Zhou Yu lead his army to Jingzhou on the way to Xichuan, Liu Bei would go and boost the the morale of the Wu troops. Zhou Yu's intention is to launch a surprise attack to capture the main city of Jingzhou when Liu Bei go out of the city to greet and welcome the Wu army. On the contrary however, Liu Bei was nowhere to be seen and Zhao Yun who is the general on top of the castle gate told Zhou Yu that Zhuge Liang had seen through his scheme. Not to be underestimated by Zhuge Liang, Zhou Yu ordered his forces toward Xichuan to prove that he can capture Xichuan. Along the way a messenger delivered Zhuge Liang's letter to Zhou Yu which warn him that attacking Xichuan would give Cao Cao a golden opportunity to attack Wu from behind. Zhou Yu became too aggravated and fainted again. This time round he never recovered and passed away very shortly after. His last words were "Heaven has created me. Why must Zhuge Liang exist too?"

MORE Zhou Yu of Wu

Profile
Zhou Yu of Shucheng was the close friend and advisor to Sun Ce and later Sun Quan. His skill at strategy and politics led Sun Ce at his death to reccomend to his brother "for internal affairs, turn to Zhang Zhao; for outer matters you must consult Zhou Yu". Zhou Yu is largely responsible for the spectacular defeat of Cao Cao at Chi Bi, during which Cao Cao's navy was ravaged by fire.

Zhou Yu was described as "a dashing leader of handsome and refined mien". He was a cultured, sophisticated man highly skilled in tactics, whose only weakness was his conceit.

Throughout his life, Zhou Yu's rival Zhuge Liang of Shu was a source of distress to the young strategist. Zhou Yu's inability to accept the younger Zhuge Liang as the greater strategist anguished him, leading to his death from an arrow wound that never healed properly. Zhou Yu died with the words "O God, since thou made Zhou Yu, why did thou also create Zhuge Liang?"

All Zhao Yun had to do was to pick him up at the shore with a boat. I would like to see you go into enemy territory, embarrass one of their high commands and just walk back to your own crib with no help!

Zhuge Liang is the best. No strategist of Wu and Wei ever want to challenge him. The one who dare to challenge him and underestimate his skill were all have end up the same way like Zhou Yu, Wang Lang, Cao Zhen, Hao Shao... (Sima Yi almost meets the same fate, so does Lu Xun).

The only two who can take the challenge from Zhuge Liang are Sima Yi and Lu Xun.

But he is the one who ACTUALLY killed Zhou Yu. The best is that he did not even have to use any weapon.

Anyway, isn't it a bit nonsense to argue about this?

Well, I guess you win then.

Here are some facts from this site http://www.rtkweb.com/main.html

"Historical characters like Cao Cao, Liu Bei, Zhuge Liang, and Zhou Yu had been re-interpreted to reflect the importance of Shu-Han. Specifically, the novel gives much credit to Zhuge Liang and his achievements. In particular, Zhuge Liang has been emphasized at the expense of Zhou Yu.

The story of Cao Cao's encounter with Lü Boshe shows how time will embellish the facts. The biography of Cao Cao states that he abandoned Dong Zhuo after his usurpation of power in Luoyang in 189, and sought escape under a false name to join the rebel forces in the east. On the road, Cao Cao was arrested on suspicion, but someone spoke for him and was able to continue on his way.
First, the story was changed to Cao Cao and a small escort arrived at his friend, Lü Boshe, house. Lü Boshe was not home at the time, and his son, with a party of retainers, attacked the apparent intruders. Cao Cao killed several men and fled.
Next, the story evolves into that of Lü Boshe and his five sons welcomes Cao Cao and prepares for a ceremony for him. Cao Cao, however, suspected that he might be taken and fled that night, killing several people. He was later arrested as fugitive. A junior officer recognized Cao Cao as a man who had great potential, concealed Cao Cao's true identity and argued for 's release.
Then the story says that Cao Cao mistaken the sounds of food being prepared as a sign of him about to be attacked. Cao Cao then proceeded to make his murderous escape. Here, Cao Cao makes the statement, "I would rather betray others than have another man betray me!"
Finally, the novel tells of a story in which Cao Cao was rescued by the honest Chen Gong, how both men visit Lü Boshe's home, how they mistaken the conversation overheard from the kitchen about slaughtering pigs, how Cao Cao carries out his treachery by killing Lü Boshe as he was bringing wine for the two men, and how Chen Gong leaves Cao Cao in horror and disgust.

Several anecdotes surround the death of Sun Ce and the magic of Gan Ji. According to history, Sun Ce was hunting deer when he was attacked by three of Xu Gong's men and was hit in the jaw with an arrow. Later that night, he would die of his wounds. Though not proven, there may have been a quarrel between Sun Ce and Gan Ji. Many of Sun Ce's men turned away from him and welcomed the Taoist, while Sun Ce viewed him as a trickster and a hoax. Offended and embarrassed by Gan Ji's presence, Sun Ce killed the Taoist as a rival to his authority. The novel makes an imaginative retelling of the incident concerning the killing of Gan Ji and the death of Sun Ce.

A biography of He Qi of Wu tells the conquest against the hill people south of the mouth of the Yangzi. In the novel, Zhuge Liang's seven campaigns against the non-Chinese people of the southwest may have its roots with He Qi.

History records that Wen Pin of Wei played the ruse of the empty city against Sun Quan, and not Zhuge Liang against Sima Yi. Here, Wen Pin opened the gates of the city and ordered all his people to be quiet. He stayed at his residence while the ruse was in effect. Sun Quan approached with his army, and when he saw the city, he halted. Suspecting a trap, he withdrew.

In 213, Sun Quan was compelled to turn his boat around, for fear that the arrows sticking on one side of the boat would capsize it. This story was later developed into Zhuge Liang's feat of gathering one hundred thousand arrows at the time of Red Wall.

It was Sun Quan's army that made decisive attack and defeated Cao Cao's army. The novel enlarged the role of Liu Bei's troops and Zhuge Liang's involvement.

In Cao Cao's biography, Cao Cao's retreat from Red Wall was due to sickness of his troops rather than the complete defeat by the allied forces as portrayed in the novel."
