Well first of all I would like to greet the forums once again, I did quite a few posts during the summer and was a regular here, but then I left as I waited for RTW. Now I have been reading here once again and decided to post my impression of the game.

Too bad I lost my MTW catholic bishops portrait and had to choose a greek rogue *sigh*

I hope you do not look at this post as on another "whine topic", I really do not want to sound like that, but only want to express my opinion.

When I play a game I like to get a certain feeling to it, it has to feel real, intruiging, interesting not just a mindless massacare of pixel men. That is why I always set myself certain rules, like no cheats, exploits or wars just because the AI left the town empty.

My experience with RTW is limited at the moment, but after starting I think my fifth campaign I managed to live the game through with my new Roman family ~:) . I am currently in the beginning of the campaign and have just united Greece with my Italian lands.

What I wanted to say with the above is that RTW certainly offers good possibilities for a game to be fun from a certain roleplay point of view. I mean all the new addition like the family tree, many new interesting vices and virtues and so called small courts that hang around with your family and all of your agent sort of make the game interesting and add a certain feel to it. Not to mention the speaches, character nicknames ( Mighty, Mad etc. ), small movie clips, music etc.

The above is what makes the game fun and the lack of it in other strategy games causes hature in myself towards the latter. Of course the game is not perfect as it is now, the biggest problem is the AI and various exploit bugs. But if one doesn't try and exploit every game weakness there is, rush through the campaign, but instead set challenging rules and try to enjoy the game rather than abuse it , then it can be a challenging and interesting.

Thank you for reading, this was sort of a come back post, I got tired of reading many "whine topics" and tried to express a different opinion towards the wonderful game CA gave us.
