Who is itching to return to the debates?

Who just wants to relax and sip a cold one?

Please vote only if you post on the backroom, but anyone can comment.

What happened to the backroom? What did I miss? :dizzy2:

I haven't logged in about 3 weeks, and assumed I had been somehow banned from posting there.

I think its a good thing over all. VikingHorde more than likely doesn't like it, due to noobs bashing his mod that would other wise, bash the backroom. ~;) It has seemed to have that adverse affect though, the sometimes unruly behavior and nonintellegent post of the backroom has carried over to some undesired rooms, now that there is no where to post those.

Not going to miss it at all. Still somewhat ashamed that I allowed myself to get sucked into it for three months. Oh well, I can always claim I was drugged and set up.

Have had to start political debates with friends and family, they now nothing so its to easy and they just agree in the end or get bored of me... help!

Gawain's gotta be going nuts. ~;) I don't care too much, but I think its kind of a bad thing, because it was obviously a popular place. People liked it. So to shut it down means that many people are missing out on something they enjoyed. If it had little to no posts in it I could understand. I guess it doesn't matter to me either way though. Life still is terrible at the moment....could be worse, but could be much better. I guess an online forum closing won't make things much better or worse.

I've probably fought a few more battles online since I wasn't cruizin the Backroom.

Absence does make the heart grow fonder . . .

Well I am probably missing it as yesterday I had a huge debate on certain political areas with my father and even my mother... I fear it might flare up again today when other family members are round, oh backroom save me.

It was great though, a classic moment, when my father stood up and saluted the Queen as the national anthem played - while I turned around, exposed my backside and slapped it in her direction - only for the Queen to go on and talk about tolerance and how good different cultures is for our nation - something I had been arguing about with my father and something he was totally denying in his bigoted, horrible, twisted reality. It was just too funny to even imagine happening.

So what happened exactly?

Was there a massive battle that got so ugly the mods just decided to annihilate the Backroom? Or was it deleted for some other reason? Banwidth for example.

Good thing.

The backroom is like a car wreck for me. No matter how ugly you have to stare at it, y'know? I try to stay away, but I keep going back even though I know its full of people and opinions that annoy the hell out of me.

Plus I can't sleep when I've been in there and I work shifts.....maybe I should just get the mods to ban me from there? ~:)

Or... just do like me and keep busy doing other things.

If you must go in there go with an open mind so you can observe and understand rather than pass judgements and criticise ---> which is typically what happens when most go to the backroom (NOT referring to YOU).

Tosa closed the backroom until the 27th for the holidays. To foster peace and goodwill throughout the community would be my guess.

However since I am at my inlaws - the closing of the backroom means I have to share my views if not my exact thoughts on the subject with the family. SInce most of them agree with me being that they are from the heartland of the United States - its not a very imaginative discussion on politics and religion.

Hmmm is it that bad then. Compared with 99% of the forums it is a shining light of civilisation (god how do you spell it), even with the more controversial topics.

Wow a dead tie! I personally wish the backroom was still open because I am the sort of person that loves to debate but now I guess I can just go back to my pre-member status routine of debating with my dog and always being beaten by that steady disinterested stare!

I think it is good to point out that people should go in with an open mind like Sinan stated because otherwise it would just be a flame magnet, and that would just get people banned...

I'm glad it's only temporary. I'm travelling at the moment. Tried to get into the Backroom on two different computers and couldn't figure out why it wasn't working. I was going to post a "wha' happened?" thread!

Good to see that it will be back soon.

As I've recently found out...try this in a relationship (with the opposite sex) and see how it goes....not too well I might say. I couldn't care less personally...give me something to distract me from the monogamy of everyday monotony. I suppose I'll start posting more in the backroom as a distraction from the things that anger me about everyday life. It could be much much worse....but considering I only asked for ONE thing for Christmas that ONE person could have granted, and I didn't get what I wanted, I feel the right to be upset with life.

Oh well, it goes on. Have fun.

Oh and P.S.: I didn't know that granting someone the wish of having 2-3 hours of worry-free peace of mind was that big of a gift to grant. Apparantely it is.

Now now into the backroom with all that. That is really much more than I needed to know about your holiday wishes...
