seen something quite like that before.
btw. any of the 2 people who visit this part of the forum know the program on Disc. Channel "Scrapheap"? They had to build a trebuchet/catapul once...quite amusing http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif.

Is that the British series? We had it on Channel 4 here. In the one I'm thinking of, one side made a trebuchet and the other a 'mangonel' type catapult. As always in these 10 hour challenges the simplest solution won - the mangonel. The trebuchet was an awesome weapon in its time but it was a complicated piece of kit that required precise balancing of the various parts of the construction. In another recent history doc here two teams reconstructed a couple of trebuchets based on those used by Edward at the siege of Stirling castle. One took a almost a week to build and test...
