I'm about halfway through the book, "Warriors of God - Richard the Lionheart and Saladin in the Third Crusade". By James Reston, Jr. Anchor Books, 2001. Well written, engrossing - and its got it all, from horse archers, Turcopoles, various chapters of Knights, assasins, marriage of Princesses, Jihads, payment of ransom, etc. It's enhancing my appreciation for the game and for the research put into MTW by the designers.
