I was just playing around editing the tileset, and I noticed that I can only edit certain ones.

Does anyone have anymore info?

Here is my first try on editing the tileset:

Its based on the MTW map:

Like it?

very nice. I was thinking of doing something similar as the RTW one feels really cluttered. Yours keeps the map nice and clean so you can really see what's going on.

Very nice! I might just use this. Looks far better than the RTW one. The RTW map is quite dark if you ask me, this is just what it needs. Did you edit the sea as well? Also, how do you edit the tileset?

I edited the farmlands to have rice fields for the Sengoku Jidai mod. But I haven't gone any further yet. What images weren't editable?

I was thinking about making a parchment feel to avoid that gamey look of R:TW and if we can't edit images that would be a shame.

The only one I can't work out how to do is the mountaing peaks. But if you want to make a full conversion, it shouldn't be too hard, just don't use any mountain peaks.

If you don't want to do that either because you want snow, don't worry about it, RTW seems to use two textures for mountains ground type, one below a certain height, and one above.

The files to edit are in Terrain\Aerial map\ground types I think.

Some of the files in there seem to be unused. Its fairly obvious which ones these are as they don't look anything like the game.

@SilverRusher, I've now edited the mountains as well, next is the sea, and then trees. Do you want my files? I can send them to you if you do.

The mountain peaks are objects (CAS files), Jerome told that some time ago. To edit them search for TGA.DDS files.

Thx, I'll do that.

The related txt file for this (which assigns image files to ground types for each climate) is Data\descr_aerial_map_ground_types.txt
