My latest Campaign is Byz Early/Hard and I swear it has everything. I did the Normal eliminate Turkey and Egypt. Naples was Bribed back before the first point count. I thought I was going to loose evrything in 1246 when my Ancient Emperor that was 61 on taking the crown died with an underage heir. I had a civil war and survived. I lost the hero General but did manage to bribe back a 7* former Prince with a full stack and a second full stack in Egypt.

Also in Egypt recently the Almohads attacked with 7000+ men. I had been attempting to bribe one of the stacks from the mess headed my way. Well I fight the battle outnumbered almost 3 to 1. I killed 2900 and executed 2900. I was amazed after the battle to hear my ransom had been refused. Well low and behild I did suceed in bribing one stack that stayed in Cyrenacia so that cut off his survivors. SWEET.

The Hord actually showed up in force for a change. I was expecting the usual Khazar, Armenia and had massive troops around my province of Armenia with one horse archer to retreat to the castle. Nope they show up in Khazar and Volga with about 20 stacks and proceed to pummel the PoN.

On top of all this excitment it is now 1376 and the Swiss have made an apperance and strong showing and hold most of the HRE homelands. The English had become a major nuisance and were getting too close for comfort in points so I took The English Isles from them and their mainland provinces went into a civil war and the Burgundians have shown up and after a few turns hold Burgundy and Anjou.

Time to see how it ends. The Almohads have the numbers and the Swiss, one of the rare Nuetral Factions to me, have the impressive numbers. Its really been a great campaing with about all that can happen, happening.

The Byz are interesting. Once I had finshed the Turks (MedMod 3.14), but the Egyptians had me bogged down; long story short my failures started to accumulate and the generals had enough.

Civil War. I backed the Emperor. Next year, another Civil War. That time I chose the army's choice. I had about a quarter of the empire, sans Constantinople.

Well, I sued for peace and let the Egyptians take what they wanted. Soon, I rebuilt and conquered the Balkans. Then I marched south and taught those upstarts who's in charge. Anyway, I conquered North Africa into Spain, killed the Mongols early, bribed the Steppes, won the game at 60% and kept going, Normandy and the surrounding regions were the only outside of my grasp.

I wonder what I did with that save game...?

For soem reason I never put the screenshot form this campaign up and it is worth fishing this thread back up to do so as in my experience one does not encounter the Burgundians too often. If I recall correctly they were brought out by the civil war that England had after I had to trounce the snot out of them to get the lead in points. Since you cant build Varangians in High I went a bit crazy with them probably had 5 or 6 full stacks worth atleast by the cut off point, needless to say with all those and plenty of Katanks I could do what I wished.

That's a wild campaign - I've never had one with that many events. Thanks!

I would hope the swiss are spamming their halberdiers and pikemen to give the ol'e byz a workout.
