I am a modeller and texturer who will happily join a mod and make units as long as its interesting. I started my own mod but got annoyed with scripting and the campaign map and as well as lack of interest got bored. So if anyone wants someone to do units for them, prefrably not medieval I am here. You can get an idea of my modding capabilities from the mod development forum, my mod is Africa Total War. WARNING I am english ans so may appear to be up at strange hours

PM me or reply to this thread if you are interested :deal:

If you like fantasy mods, think on the Wheel of Time, theres a large variety of units to keep you occupied.

And anyway, not everyone is american, there are lots of Brits, including me ;)

I'm afraid I have already had two offers from other groups pm-ing me but if they decide not to have me or something or I decide against them then I may join your group.

I tried, you've got no PM space left...

Oh well, back to the search

Hi there Sundjata Keita,

One of my treasured projects would actually be based on the Zulu/Boer wars (perhaps your sphere of interest) but I'm currently doing another mod (not medieval) which requires some remodelling of the existing CAS's. I've bought Max6 and Max5 but neither wants to work with my computer so I've resigned myself to outsourcing my models. If I could ask you from time to time for help I'd greatly appreciate it - and if you're interested in Zulu Total War ;-) I'm your man!

Cheers,
Clare

I was originally going to make my africa game into a zulu game and have some great battles like ulundi and isandhlwana in it but I thought making animations with guns would be too difficult. If you are attempting a zulu mod I would be more than interested in helping. I already have some info and the base maps for an african campaign from my other mod.

Is the other mod that W.A.S.P. thing? I have cleared some space in my pm box and so if it is could I have some more info (I won't tell anyone ~;)).

PM me and I will see about helping you, if you are making a zulu mod I would love to be a part of it ~:)

Hi there Sundjata Keita,

Wow! The Zulu project's been in the devt stage for a LONG time now but I could never get it off the ground in MTW due to my absolute lack of skill in 3D graphics modelling. I've been doing research for upwards of two years now, mostly online stuff, but what I've found is pretty good. Sources include the South African military website, Military History articles online as well as stuff on Africa.

I planned to make Zulu a mod that encompasses the history of the 'Spartans of Africa' from the rise of Shaka to the final defeat at Ulundi. The various tribes - Mthethwa, Ndwandwe, eLangeni, Buthelezi, Swazi tribes form the 'Zulu Confederacy' (akin to the Roman republic factions I think! - Dingiswayo's Mthethwa's being the leader, they're the SPQR) while the 'barbarians are naturally the white colonials. I want to include various historic as well as, well, popular aspects of culture - ie. the top-level witch doctors can create 'simba' units reminiscent of the Tsavo lions to attack white homesteads, while the culture/military is intrinsically linked and develops along the lines that you want to including running barefoot, marriage by royal decree, doctoring, etc. The balance I think is achieved by making the Zulus great melee troops even at their most basic hunter-gatherer stage while the white colonist offset this by having guns even at their basic peasant colonial stage (not that they can fire measured volleys or are using the latest weapons - ex-military muskets will suffice).

Will send you some research (maybe get your creative juices for Africa flowing again!) but will PM you about WASP now.

Cheers,
Clare
