If the enemy guards their castle like they do in the movie where the Ninja breaks the seige, then you aren't going to need special forces to get in. Even dumb ones like that ninja standing on the ridge of the roof with loads of torches behind him. 'Coooeeee, i'm here, anyone in?'
there do seem to be dust clouds on the battle videos though, unless it's just my imagination, but then there were troops that looked like musketeers, so hmmmmm.

I guess the guy in the first clip fighting the Ninja unit is the Master Swordsman.

I think all the little ninja attacking the giant sized kensai (though he looks like he could be a single unit no-dachi unit here) is cute. All joking aside, it's interesting to see the ninja tear through the one unit like they did (although it's a firearms unit...so it's not that surprising) and then watch them ineffectually surround the one swordsman.
I assume that the units with the glaives are the Korean Aux. units? I'm curious what they do to the poor Ashigaru unit strategy-wise. I would hate to see the peasant bushi units become even more unused by players. Most auxillary units in armies (especially those from foreign countries) were generally unreliable, though, so it'll be interesting to see how they stack up.

It does look like at one point the Ninja unit breaks up and the Ninjas act individually. Attacking everything around them.
Looks cool. Any those battles were massive.
i am very glad to see the return of the general tent. Hope that they will not remove it this time. I wonder where gameover has found these pictures and movies.
looking interesting... I'm hoping they follow up on details of the "object oriented" battles.

Indeed, thank you, Zaxxon. I probably would have never found this myself. But a Russian site?? And I thought that "EVERYONE" thread by me came from an obscure source! http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/wink.gif
Anyway, I'm replying as late as now because I have an extremely slow connection to Russia (even though I live next door...) and was able to d/l the movie clips only now. They look really good; I'm especially delighted about the return of the Taishô's HQ.
And Naomasa-sama, those glaive guys fight with Japanese armies, so they're more likely an as-yet-unannounced unit (or revamped Naginata) than Koreans. One of the 3D rendered movie clips shows the Korean Auxiliary Infantry have shields... http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/biggrin.gif

"Understood the Sword his meaning, / Understood the hero's question, / And it answered him as follows: / 'Wherefore at thy heart's desire / Should I not thy flesh devour, / And drink up thy blood so evil? / I who guiltless flesh have eaten, / Drank the blood of those who sinned not?'"

Those ninjas are pretty fast, fast enough to catch skirmishing musket units, if the video (#2) is any indication. It also looks like they're able to disengage from combat a lot more quickly and easily than conventional units, too.
The Kensai was just plain silly, though.
