quick battles

:help: :help: :help: started to play the quick battles -
is there a progression to these - or are they generated randomly - I would say it is the former as I have gone away and come back and am stillon the same one

which incidently I could do with some help with

have loads of horse archers - with a bit of heavy cav + minimal ground troops (2 spearmen 2 archers)

cannot seem to beat phalanx / heavy cav opposition - mainly because they have elephants that I cannot destroy

please help

yes sometimes you seem to be getting the same one's over and over, don't know if the're is progress in the quick battles ~:confused: might be though

as for your mission, you should trie to take on the heavy cavalry with 2 unit's of HA and trie to separate the phalanxes which is easy since they will come after your HA with phalanxe mode still on, you will probably rout them easily.

as for the elephants they are no problem if you target them with fire arrows from your archers.
and maybe just to be safe a unit of HA. you can use your 2 infantry to pin down the hoplites ( trie to separate the hoplites before doing so ) and charge form another side by your Cataphracts.

if you do this the hoplites will be slaughtered by your HA and the elephants will run amock while chasing your HA. take out their cavalry (cataphracts ) early, it will save your spearmen and archers

I believe that somewhere back in the MTW days, I heard that you needed to beat the quick battle for it to progress. Don't have a clue about this in RTW but its a theory. Oh well. Good luck and welcome to the Guild Minimus.
