When I was browsing the Medieval folder, I discovered that there are the Glorious Goals of stopping the heretic rebels in Toulouse and Bohemia. There are even special pictures. Has anyone ever triggered such a historic event? Have they been taken out or are they random, like the appearance of Burgundy, Jeanne d'Arc and John I.? I recently discovered Jeanne d'Arc as France when the English took over Toulouse. John I. of England appeared when Richard I. died without heirs (He didn't have the special picture nor more than two command stars). John brought a full new set of heirs with him.

By the way, is it possible to get Alexander Newsky in a similar way?

pictures? where did you see them? The appearance of Burgundy isn't actually random, it happens as soon as Burgundy revolts (which isn't based on actual random factors, but more on the usual factors which trigger revolts..

These events are not random: the Burgundian faction will emerge in late if Burgundy is neutral and Jeanne d'Arc is one of the games many heroes: powerful generals or agents that appear at set time when you train the right unit (that is: not peasants or similar) or agent. If you want to know when heroes appear, you can try looking for one of the many Hero guides available. I recommend Nefarious' (see Froggy's beginner's guide for instructions on how to get it) and Ky Kiske's (contains all the stats, but the link is buried somewhere in the Entrance Hall) Hero listings as these are complete and post-VI.

The game also supposedly contains so called hero-kings: if a king has the same name and number as a king in history, he will resemble the famous king to some degree. Mind you, I have never met a Richard I that really had the heart of a lion, but then, all these Richards had the misfortune of having to face me ~D .

The Albigensian Crusade is only available if the province has a heretical rebellion, or if the heretics are the primary religion in the province while it is rebel (I can't remember which). You can increase the chances by putting leaders and troops with low-no piety and no churches or priests. Having a low piety king may help.
