View Full Version : Improving the AI by modding down rebellions. Can it work?

Just for fun, I watched the AI play out for about 100 years yesterday ( Vanilla RTW, Med/Med. I played as SPQR and did essentially nothing for 100 years except hit End Turn and take screenshots).

One thing I noted is the AI factions can go onto a growth spurt and conquer new territories, but then they are stalled by rebellions. Egypt for example had rebellions galore in Syria and Judaea and even Alexandria!. I saw the Scipii conquer all of north africa to Tingi and then lose it all to the rebels.

Clearly the AI has a problem with rebellions. So I modded an extra 15% happiness to all the city hall buidling line (governor's villa to imperial palace). On a repeat experiment there seem to be less rebellions and the AI factions expand more steadily.

I am curious to know if any of the mods out there incorporate something like that, and has anyone figured a (better) way to help the AI prevent rebellions?
