So you’re a diehard Total War multiplayer veteran, with many years in the saddle.
Totally disappointed with the unfinished release of Rome, you have gone back to VI. But because you have already played that to absolute death, you feel that there’s nothing left for you.

Maybe you have thought that if you could just have the good old days of STW back again you would be happy. But at the same time, you know that even if it were available, you probably wouldn’t be satisfied with the old game engine. And even if you could manage that, who would you play with?

If you would seriously like to live the glories of Shogun again, only this time on the Medieval engine, you really need to check out the Samurai_War mod for MTW/VI v2.01.

Who would you play with? This mod is becoming very popular as the word spreads. The combination of the best game and the best engine, is truly remarkable, and will not fail to bring the best of the best players back to the battlefield.

Beyond that, the Clan Wars Competition has just started up a Samurai Clan Wars map driven Contest, the first of it’s kind for the CWC. This Contest provides Clans with the choices of where, when, and who they will do combat with. And also gives options to hire Mercenaries to help to protect their borders, and Alliances to assist them in their quest for the Shogunate.

Sound like a triple winner?

The Samurai mod with map pack and easy self installer is only a click away, at: http://www.clanwarscomp.org/samurai/Samurai_War.exe

LOL Tomi: If I am ever rich and famous I am hiring you as my PR man! :) Very well done. Your grandfather wasn't a snake oil salesmen in the early twenty's in New York was he? ~

Nope, was an aircraft carpenter in southern California. No sales blood here.

It’s just really my own story, my appreciation for this highly refined mod, and passion for Clan vs. Clan competitions. Simple as that, telling it like I personally see it.

Yes I know the “re-release” of Rome (it will have to be) is due out any day. And no one wants to commit to much right now. But I thought I would give it my best try, as I do have two Clans waiting, and wanting to slug it out in Japan.

Any takers? :duel:

Just one quick (and probably stoooopid) question.

Is this like the Reconquista mod in that it gives you an extra time era to choose when starting a game?

So if I install the STW mod, can I still play normal VI games too?

Or will I need to have two versions of MTW:VI installed on my hard drive? (one modded to STW and one not...)

Who? Me? Clueless??? Shome mishtake shurely....

It adds a new era and normal VI will work with it. Only thing you need is to swap projectile stats as the mod needs better guns that what we have in VI. That is easily done by using the bat file that is included with the installer.

You can find the statswapper in the main MTW/VI folder (called STWmod.bat) or use the shortcut that should pop up on your desktop after installing the mod (called Samurai). A menu comes up giving you the choice to pick either VI or mod stats. Just run the statswapper while game isnt running.

You can download the installer here (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?t=41796)

This installer has the latest stats and for those who already have the mod installed just download the seperate unitstats that is also found in in the above link.
