View Full Version : Square Flags on Settlements
Hi guys,
Fairly new to game still and been reading here for tips :)
Just completed the Julli Long campaign but continuining on to conquer the world ~;)
Soon after getting the completion message i captured a Scipti and Brutii Settlement and the settlement flags are Square instead of rectangle. , the settlement and flag is darkened on the map and theres no city information on the campaign map. Nor can you see the size of army with this new flag.
If i Right click i seem to be able to adjust everything as normal with a governor but just wondered why the difference in appearance ? Is this because the campaign is completed and all other captured settlements will be like this ?
Tried taking a screenshot but cant seem to find if they are saved to RTW file or just a paste file.
Thanks in Advance

I think its a bug I've had it happen once, just move a spy diplomat or army to the settlement and I think that sorts it out

Think it's a bug really... I once had a fort with one unit in it, but the fort and surroundings were dark and there was a square flag on it. The square flags appears when either you don't have any troops in your city or you cannot see the strength of the garrison in someone else's city.

Just out of interest was the city in question Plavatium ?
I've had a few odd things occur with that city, the most strange was when I had just taken it from Gaul and placed the conquering army in the city and retrained all the units fixed repaired the walls and so and end turn, next turn Gaul place the city under seige, so I decide to sent another army to break the seige and end turn but when its my turn to move Plavatium is greyed out with a gaul flag on it but with city still under seige by the gaul army and when ever I placed my mouse over the city it said Plavatium belongs to Gaul, a bit odd I though but also when I had the fog of war gone wrong prob it was also Plavatium. ~

No , it was Salona and Messana , those are the only ones ive took..will take another one soon and see what happens
Also. My Capital Arretium got the plague when i had 6 generals in there and all got infected bar the governor.
I moved the other infected ones out and stood them near the shore. The plague left the city but whenever a new general spawned he immediately got the plague and infected everyone again..had to change capital to rome.
Are they infected permanently, its been like that for a while now..atleast 30 turns. It hurting not being able to use them :embarassed:

Yeah the plagues a bit of a bugger
I think the best thing to do is leave the city alone, total quarantine and they usually sort themselves out but saying that I have lost a few good generals to the plague :bigcry: I think if your general/troops have plague and are not in a city they stay infected but if you put them in a city they will be cured after a few turns. I could be wrong but its worth a try just make sure you remove any uninfected troops out before you move the plague bearers in.
