Can anyone tell me what is the real difference in the game between playing the campaigns as medium, hard, or very hard? Does the AI get smarter or something? Thanks.

no not smarter unfortunatley... no it just gives attack bonuses to the AI
something like + 3 attack( on hard ), and the AI get's a +7 attack bonus on very hard.
on normal there are no bonuses given. and on easy I geuss you get a + 3 bonus but I don't know that for sure.

on campain they just tend to build better buildings and wel I think build better en bigger army's. and on very hard the Roman factions actually conquer provinces, which they don't well slower in a different difficulty setting.
sorry for the double post
They also bribe a lot more on VH or so i think people have said
On VH campaigns they gang up on you big time. You can pretty much count on everyone who borders you attacking you.
It would mean much more if they actually massed their armies instead of trickling units across your borders, though...
And the agression of the AI on VH can sometimes be ridiculous, they seem bent on destroying you with little regard for themselves

I currently play on medium and actually find that pretty enjoyable and challenging. I've seen a few comments that VH is actually a bit rediculous. Would it be safe to say that "Hard" is the most balanced level of play?
What level do you all play at?
very hard, i love the constant fighting
