Hello,

A small question, after looking a couple of pages of threads I could not find anything on this, is there a mod to eliminate the timer in battles or make it lots slower (longer lasting battles) ?

Alternativelly, if nothing exists on this, would anyone know if it would be possible to change that?

I read on the manul, it said that playing Arcade style eliminates some realism constraints, but I really want to have morale and fatigue and limited ammo etc, and just think the timer goes too fast for some battles (sieges specially).

Thank you for any help on this.

None knows I guess.

Well, I finally was able to dig up something about this, and just in case any of you would like a similar functionality there are two Fan Made tools at the TWCenter website.

I personally hope that some kind of ON/OFF switch would be part of any future patch that CA makes for the Game, or at least make the timer at least 3 times longer, since to be honest the timer beleive it or not is actually a realistic element. As battles, most of the time were fought in daylight, with the exception of sieges which went on.

And that is where the problem is I think.

I was sieging Carthage without any siege weapons, only ladders and towers, so by the time I was able to coordinate an attack and take 25% of the walls and towers, starting to gather inside, and opening the gates from inside for the cavalry to come in, well, the timer gave me a defeat even if I had 300% more forces on the battle than the defenders.

The worst of this is that this numerically and sieging army was completelly destroyed and vanished.

Another good enhancement here if the timer is not modifyed would be to have that army retreat to its sieging position with any remaining troops.

Then several options open themselves, the attacking player could drop the siege and head home, or wait to be reinforced or fight again in a subsiquent attack. The defending side could always counter attack or wait for a relief army.

But none of this is hapening, so for now, disabling that timer seems to be the better solution advantaging enjoyment of the battles.

I never played Arcade Mode, I do not know how the timer is there, but it also seems to disable other factors which I actyually enjoy much and use tactically in battles.

Thank you
