Was is and always will be in front of our eyes:
A MASSIVE MULTIPLAYER ONLINE CAMPAIGN MAP where the generals connect whenever they can and fight build talk to each other and INTERACT...Each turn is automaticall for the decided time and thehosting is passed around the present players (like warcraft maps) and if none is online its saved to the last players computer (like option file) the CA had thought of this:
http://www.computerandvideogames.com/r/?page=http://www.computerandvideogames.com/previews/previews_story.php(que)id=99798
But the community being fed up with the "it cant be done" bull"$%^^t forgot all about this option...
THE COMMUNITY MUST DEMAND THE GAME TO BE FULL IN MP NOT JUST A BASTARD...
As about how many players would play it i have a queston:
Are the Championship Manager games turn based?
How many people are playing them?
The answer is up to you...

Go double posting and not making sense!
Anyway, if you want a MP Campaign, look here:

Er, yes, the solution to wanting to play a nice SP game against a decent AI is to remove the SP component and any AI at all.

Its so sad to see how the community is continuing to smoke :smoking: this suspicious plants and dream  of the implementation of an "AI"...
What "AI"? Casparov won deep blue at chess do you expect to be challeneged by a PC "AI"? Manager games are popular!!! ARE PLAYABLE!!! ANd A R E T U R N B A S E D!!!
Do you actually believe that making a human like "AI" is easier that a MP campaign?
I read the petition and all MP players are sterilised in their balloon of deny...
ASK ANY RTS player why they dont like the TW series and they will tell you: Because you cant build in mp... Thats it...
Until some people wake up from their perfect "AI" :laugh4: :laugh4: dream the whining will live...

eh? what ? :dizzy2:
What hellenas saying is that A.I can't match the human brain, thats why. So there is no such thing as perfect A.I
GAH!
Vanya sez... What Vanya just read sounds like yall want a "perpetual world" rts game...
But Vanya wonders... if you logoff, you might just lose whatever youz managed to build/conquer since either an AI or an idiot would probably fill your shoes in your absence. Or, your forces stay put and let themselves be shot to pieces by snickering ashigaru snipers...
:charge:
Interesting idea though... But Vanya not want a "pay as you play" scheme... That would just plain blow chunks in Vanya's mind (whatever is left of it).
GAH!

What im saying is that AS LONG AS Multiplayer remains the B@st@rd child of TW series the other clickingfest RT"S"es will sell more and CA wont attract anyone of the self amused clicking "strategists" of Warcraft AoE etc etc crowd...
And this is not off topic since we have a SERIOUS SP problem which needs a solution...
Turn based Manager games ARE VERY popular in their MP part and people play them with matches NOT autoresolved since they ALL wait the other matches to finish....
Why wouldnt a Campaign with substitutes (if one drops he's appointed a substitute whos in his clan/friend from another time zone) and some times AI will step in but very rarely...
If NOW MTW had a MP campaign and RTW not which game would you prefer?
The answer is up to you....

They can be as popular as they like but it doesn't matter.
Tried Football Manager online at all? Its turn based, its got very "low grade" graphics but yet, 4 or more people playing lags the game to a terrible speed unless someone owns a super computer.
Point is, if FM lags with just four people, imagine RTW with its glorious 3D terrains and troops etc.
Not plausible.

They do lag sometimes if someone is on 56k or has pentium I but the point isnt there, the point is that for sales sake and replayability since the "AI" is a junkie's dream its the only solution...
Just ask ANY of the RTS population why they wont EVEN try a PIRATED copy of RTW and you will find out....
But my question remains:
If NOW MTW had a MP campaign and RTW not which game would you prefer?

I'll tell you what, I'd rather go out and have a life than sit around for 8 hrs a day waiting for someone to change to 'low' tax rather than 'normal'.
And I'd get fired too for not turning up to work. And lose my girlfriend.
Great idea all round in fact.

Why wait?
Do you wait for 8hrs playing MMORPG?
If you go others take control or you assign the "AI"...
Turn time limit? Negotiations during turns?
Other games do it why not this one?
Well there are two options:
One stay here were we dream of a "AI" to be created...
Or express some suggestions and provide feedback to the devs that MP is the ONLY way to go...(like the petition)

hellenes, you've got it wrong, mate! ~:)
Of course, you are right that SP AI will never match playing a human. But playing campaign MMO, while technically possible, is not an attractive market. I seriously don't believe players are willing to commit so much time to playing a single game to warrant the development needed by CA to complete a MMO RTW. You're not going to get a whole lot of customers. And why? Because there are faster and better alternatives to a MMO RTW.
RTW and the "click-fester" games cater to two different types of players. Changing RTW into a MMO is not going to win you a single player of the other segment, because they are already playing the game-type they like - just like you are, currently. MMO RTW is going to be a niche product, and so not worth developing.

I don't know why you guys are still debating. Look at my post. MP campaign already in the works. Go help out so it comes out faster. And sea combat, who wouldn't want that?
