All these events, like coloured glass and logic... do they any impact on the game at all, the way they did for MTW (ie increasing so and so's influence, decreasing so and so's piety etc.)? I feel a bit like a schoolboy faced with educational software everytime they come out.

Nope. They don't do a thing what-so-ever. They should though, or else they're just a waste of space.
omg...They dont?
How low can this game go?

Well, i guess they're just in there for interest - adds a bit of historical context to where you are in the game at that moment.

That's a bit harsh isn't it? You can criticise the game for many things, but adding little bits of historical info here and there is hardly 'low' is it?
Unless, of course, you're taking the piss, in which case, :embarassed:
i think some of them do change what happens in game. i'm guessing a family member can get the stoic trait or probably certain types of philosophers until the 'stoic' event. and i noticed that i didn't see the glass trade item on the strategic map until after the 'glass' event. so i think that all the events have some effect on the game, its just not as obvious as the marius reforms.

Hmm... If nokhor is right and (almost) every event affects the game then this may be interesting.
I've seen from the event info (In the Imperial Campaign folder) that there is an event that seems to be omitted: Espionage in Carthage. How can I make it work? It would've been so cool if that somehow changes Carthage into some sort of insane Fortified Genghis raging against Rome's actions for that event. Or is it just working but I need to activate it the same way the Marius Reforms does?
Oh, and how can I delete that annoying Macedonian plague? It seems to have a bug with it and I no longer touch Macedon in the campaigns anymore or risk every city on the verge of plague. I tried to delete it before and it's CTD right after I enter the game.

How about changing the year to much later in the game?

Would have been nice though if they would've given some info on the effects... Does anyone now if farming-output increases after the 'handpump'-event? Would be nice if this was at first only noticeable in Greece and later on in other lands (following the trade-lanes).

I've seen that too. I wonder what it is, and why it doesn't work.

Nice to know they weren't just there for no apparent reason. I think they do have to affect the game, rather than just be there for the sake of a more interesting gaming experience. Rome purports to be historical, so major events that occur have to affect the game world.
Thanks for the help.

When was this concluded? ~
Seems speculative to me.

Well, I'm not sure about this, but I think that the first time I could build the 4th (sp) tier farming upgrade was right after some irrigation-related event. Could this be correct?

What's happened to your picture, Proletariat?
