I caught the comp building buildings in 1 turn. But theres seclusions to this rule. Remember in MTW the comp was never able to tech up because it kept on swapping territory destroying the building that was in progress. Well apparently they found a way to fix this. It will not happen when it involves the human but A.I. against A.I.

Well I had my spy at a hotspot and noticed that buildings were being built in 1 turn by the new conqueror. The city was under siege and as soon as it was taken over there was instantaneously a new building or upgraded 1 the next turn. Do'nt know exactly what's happening but it seems the A.I. was in progress of bulding something and the new conqueror either gets the building instantly that was in progress ot it takes over on the progress in it's current state.

Bug or not the A.I. needs it.

Only last night i noticed that the Numidian city which I had exterminated, razed to the ground and then abandoned managed to produce an army of five units of uberpeasants with gold weapons, gold armour and two gold chevrons experience the next turn...

Someone really has to fix that. I dont see why these peasants gain superhuman strength one day. What did they do? Were they exposed to radiation from a meteor or something and decided fighting crime was boring?

Luckily I still had a few cataphracts who did kill their mothers, brothers, sisters, fathers, etc, and were quite looking forward to completing the set, thank you very much. ~;)

The Egyptians were behind it I tell you. It's them and their transparent aluminum armour technology. They will be the death of us. The sphynx is watching us all. Run while you still can! :hanged: :egypt: :egypt: :egypt:

The egyptian hordes and their transparent aluminium armour....what will they think of next? They'll probably think of something as daft as a flying machine, or say that the world is round!!

I think there is a logical explanation for the super peasants...

i. When a revolt of something occurs it creates rebels troops of X value...

ii. Now if you have destroyed the other building the only units it can build are peasants,

iii. There is some limit to the number of troops that can be created.

Put those together and the only way you can make up the value of your limited number of peasant troops is by purchasing them with valour and other upgrades (just like in a skirmish game)...

As for buildings in a single turn I will have to check...

It's so simple, it's got to be right. X troop value is probably population related, with maybe the unrest level factored in.

Are you kidding. I can't hardly stay awake after I've had sex with my wife. Makes me sleepy as hell. She wants to cuddle on the other hand.....
What's up with cuddling? We've been married for over a decade. How much time do I have to put in before I'm not required to cuddle anymore..... ~:)

Regarding oaty's observation...

Could it be that the building's upgrade was due to be finished by the AI on the turn it was sacked, the other AI sacks the city, rebuilds the detsroyed building with money, and then gets to apply the previous owner's progress towards the upgraded building that same turn? It sounds convoluted and improbable, so it just might.. work? I'll have to keep an eye out for this. It wouldn't surprise me if the AI could use the building progress of the city's previous AI owner.

Super peasants must be commies and their appearance a declination of the commie defence theory! ~:) Don't you know? "The fight of all people against capitalist aggression"... The idea is: When several million guys throw whatever they have (including marmalade jars, hot soup and even night pots, preferably full) in the other guy's heads, the bad guys should get equally scared and pissed, such leaving the holy mother land.

Not sure Oaty's comment applies in this place, as they were Numidian peasants, not rebels. The only way they could have appeared is if I abandoned the city, hit end turn, the Numidians retake the city and spawn four units , along with upgrades that would normally need tier 3(4?) buildings... Alternatively, Oaty's theory is correct, and the Numidians actually bribed the city back, in which case they would get the peasants. Only just thought of that, to be honest, and impossible to check after the fact.

One question though, does the composition of rebel armies in revolting cities depend in any way on the buildings in the city when it revolts? If they're not connected, Oaty's theory doesn't work.

No, the town could have rebelled back to the Numidians, not as Rebels, in which case it would be correct. ~;)
