I was just wondering what your biggest and best battles were. Like has anyone ever had a 8000 man battle for a fortress, etc. Mine would have to be as the germans, I had 4 giant armies on the border of Spain and the Almohads had a massive pack of troops altogether on the border and I attacked with all my border armies and fought the hugest battle, for aragon I believe it was.....I lost though :embarassed:
Mine was just 5000 against 4000. The mighty Hungarians sweep trough Bulgaria to save the Constantinople from being renamed to Istanbul :)). It was on expert, around 2500 casualties on each side.

Had great battle yesterday as the Armenians (XL mod) vs the Horde.
I had just over 2,000. They invaded Mesopotamia (eastern Syria) from Armenia with 8,000. It was, like, a dozen stacks! :help:
I had mostly spearmen, archers, arbalests, some Didebuls/Naxacars (Amenian Heavy Cav), and Armenian Infantry (think Byz Infantry with AP ability - awesome!)
Anyway, I set up on a dune on the rear edge of the map (so I could get reinforcement quickly) in the classic half-hex shape. Spears bristled in every direction. Directly behind them were the archers, and higher up were the arbs. The cav, as always, anchored the rear flanks. ~:grouphug:
The Horde had the usual mix - massive Mongol Heavy cav, Horse Archers, and dismounted Mongol Warriors.
As fate would have it, a massive sandstorm erupted just as the first wave approached - curiously, almost all MHC and foot archers.
The heat took its tool on the heavily armed Mongols. By the time the MHC tried to assault my spear line, they were easily repulsed time and time again. When the MHC fell back to regroup, I charged my cav down at their archers, who were slaughtered. :charge: My cav was pretty much worn out after just a few charges, so I had to withdraw them for more arbs.
As the XL mod AI usually does, the attacker (on Hard) tries an alternate approach if the first one fails. He brought a few MHC to the narrow passage behind me and got into my perimiter, chopping up some of my arbs. But my Armenian Inf, with their AP bonus, charged the exhausted MHC and decimated them.
Successive waves of attacks at my lines were again repulsed, since his MHC was now either totally destroyed or exhausted. His HAs then cam onto the field, and they were sent fleeing after they were whittled away by my archers.
After about an hour and a half, the Mongols gave up and withdrew, leaving the desert littered with rapidly-decaying corpses and horse carrion, baking under their armor.
Result:
Friendly losses: 263
Enemy killed: 3,524 (including 440 executed prisoners).
Last I heard, the Khan was considering campaigning in cooler climes. ~
my one was Vs The Mongols when first playing with Turks .. I didn't know they show with great numburs while you put a lot units nearst Khazar and Gergioa specially . they had about 25000 Vus my 7000 units of AHC and THA sppourted by Arab Infantry and Ghaziz . The battle was in Khazer , A defended hell battle and in the end I sayed bey damned Mongols . I have to say that TH archers are great anti for MHA and I made a lot of them with V2 from Tripole ( take +1 V bounus and the last upgrade of horse farm (forget the name ) ~ . I wish if high expert players save replays for thier battle and uploading them to the org specially MTW/VI and I say once more VI , VI the only in the org are MTW v1.01 .
thanx for everyone .
~

Haha I just remembered my worst battle. I auto resolved a castle assault between 300 of my troops (forgot what units exactly but they were'nt bad) and ONE of their knights.......For some reason I lost. I tried killing myself with drain cleaner after that.
