Hi everyone ~

Even though the mouse problems are listed as a fix in the 1.2 readme I still find my mouse speed on the campaign map is about half that of the battle map and menu screens. This has persisted from vanilla RTW through to 1.2 and no suggestion I know has managed to cure it.

Is anyone still having a problem with it or does anyone know a proven fix. My wrist cannot take the strain any longer!! :embarassed:

All help appreciated. ~

In the readme it said how you can change mouse scroll. I do'nt remember what it said bt if you take a look you should be able to find what your looking for

Hello again ~

I have tried adjusting my preferences but the mouse is still slow on the campaign map. I have downloaded the latest Nvidia drivers. Can someone tell me how I can check what my graphics card is please?

Also when going into battles my screen is blank for about 20 seconds. Are other people seeing cut-scenes here?

Thanks for any help ~

Okay I've now managed to find that I have a GeForce 4 MX 440 with AGP8X card. Could anyone tell me if this is what may be causing my mouse problems on the campaign map?

I am seriously considering on giving up on RTW at the moment due to the mouse problems.

I don't have this problem at all, since 1.2. Before it was so bad I blamed it on my computer's specs. I wish I could help. ~

may sound silly but change resolution UP and u will get rid of lag

to higher resolution, less lag for some reason

Only 1 problem BassV2, strategic map only has 2 options and I'm at the highest 1024*768*32. Any other ideas?

Probably not going to be much help, but I have the same gfx card and I have no problems (though not played much with 1.2 yet). I'm not on the latest nvidia drivers though, I'm one or two issues down (56 point something, or 57 point something I think?????? ). Is your DirectX up to date? What's the rest of your machine like? Is anything else running - antivirus or firewall, downloading anything etc? Any other devices connected which might be conflicting? I'm no expert at this, but my system is fairly clean and I have no trouble.

Cheers,

Rob.

Hi RJV ~

Sorry for the delay. Due to my problems with RTW I invested in Civ 3 with the Conquests expansion. Not a bad game but the combat ceases to rock my boat like Total War does. ~:mecry:

Well in the hope that one day my campaign map problems will be sorted out here are my stats:

Dell Dimension DIM 4600
P4
512MB of RAM
2.40 GHz

I was on driver 61.77 but have now upped it to 66.93 with no change.

My DirectX is up-to-date.

I have a firewall in place.

I just cannot understand why it only impacts the campaign map and not the whole of the game.

Any further advice is greatly appreciated.......................from anyone. I've checked here, at the org and twcentre and a few people have the same problem with no proven fix.

Funnily enough, I had no mouse problems before the patch, but after installing it it is sooo slow.

Also the map scroll was fine before the patch but now is slow and choppy.

None of this is a real problem, but my biggest bugbear with v1.2 is this:

After fighting a battle my campaign map goes dark. Kind of like FoW but can still see cities and troops within my line of sight.
Doesn't happen on autocalc and goes back to normal after I exit the game and reload from desktop.

I've posted here in the Apothecary and had no help, and on the TWCenter boards.

I'm seriously considering reinstalling Rome to v1.1. :furious3:
