Seems there's been no mention of the battle editor on the forum. I just had a little mess about in it and it seems very cool-you can make maps and/or historical battles! You can even select the unit size (to represent a unit that had lost men in fighting, perhaps?)

When you go to make a new battle, you can also position the cursor over any point in the camp. map and then the editor loads up the terrain for that point in the game! You can then build a battle on it or alter the terrain itself.

One question I to have, though: Does anyone know if altering the terrain of the map for the custom battle effect the terrain for the main game? From first glace it appears that it might, because you have to start a new map from a position in the camp map, there's no option to just have a flat piece of land and edit it and build it up yourself. I'd hate to go and make a whacky map to fight on only to come across it in SP!

Anyone else fiddled with the editor? I reckon some people could make some very cool maps/historical battles to fight!

Oh, and if you didn't see it, to enable the battle editor in the options menu of RTW, you must start the game with the command line option -enable_editor

err RTR wont help you make maps, the map editor is enabled in the new RTW patch. If you want RTR (a modification for 1.1) there are plenty of places to downlaod it from, i cannot give you a link but i'm sure there's a link somewhere on this forum.

Rometotalrealism.com (http://www.rometotalrealism.com/) is the home of the mod. At this instance in time the mod will not work with the 1.2 patch. That problem is being sorted. Twcenter's forum (http://www.twcenter.net/forums/index.php?showforum=53) also has a room for the mod.

thanks

you should look out for rtr cause it will slow down the game they say turns will take a minute longer beause of the huge map and i dont like the skins of 5.0 and 5.1

4.1 skins were much better

Where does it go, exactly.
In the box thing or do I have to open properties?
Could someone give a example of how it looks?
