What's up with those Novgorods anyway??

So, does anybody know what's up with the People of Novgorod in early? They just sit there doing absolutely nothing until someone comes their god forsaken way and plucks their only province like one would pluck a cherry from a tree...
What is the purpose of their incompetent exictance? Producing princessess for every other faction?? I mean, why can't they counquer at least Muscovy for Great Bob's sake?! ~:confused:

Its because the AI isnt very good when it comes to playing relatively poor factions in crap situations, any player would take muscovy and finland (sometimes the AI does extremely well) but most of the time the AI ignores conquest and sits there.

Its like the danes, very small so if there funds are spent badly its impossible to recover, however the AI sometimes does remarkably well its practically random.

Novgorod is in not such a crap situation. You can get tons of money from trade if you have the patience to build. But something like that is a little complicated for A.I. I think.

Florins. The AI dosent do much to begin with, but if it dosent have cash it does nothing. The XL mod increases the land values and decreases trade which seems to have kick started the AI.

Seems that the AI dosent build trade empires but does okay with land build ups. Novgorod is in a spectacular starting position with plenty of good provinces nearby to take that are trade rich and adjecent to the Baltic.
