Ok I'm gonna save ya lil time and say that I already know that this topic has been gone over but i need more help and no one will respond to my private msgs, I wanna remove that damned year limit from the game and people say to go in and add SetGameEnd . . . .ect ect" and I did that and all it does is make it so after the difficulty setting, I cant choose anything else so now I cant even start the game unless I remove the addition to the file. So what do I do?

After the entries for early,high and late era, you have to add a line like this:


SetStartDate:: 1087
SetPeriod:: EARLY
SetEarlyPeriodStartDate:: 1087
SetHighPeriodStartDate:: 1205
SetLatePeriodStartDate:: 1321
SetGameEndDate:: xxxxwhere xxxx is the year in which the game ends.

If you are having the problem you described, it is because you have made some other change to the startpos file that has screwed things up. Hopefully, you saved a clean copy of the files before you modified them, that way you can just copy them back into the folder and try again.

Otherwise, you will have to reinstall and start over.

I did it exactly as you told me to and its still not working, I went back and removed all the entries I made and then only put in in the Early one to see if that would work and I went into the game and it removed the "early" selection from the choices. what should i do now or what am i doing wrong?
DR, I tried to reply via PM to the PM you sent me above, but your PM box is full. You need to delete some of your older PMs or nobody will be able to send you any messages. Okay, on to your question.

If the "Early" selection is missing from the menu, that means you have done something to the file that has corrupted it. You probably missed some small thing that you just aren't noticing. I would recommend reinstalling the game and starting from scratch. This time, save "clean" copies of the files before you try to mod them.

Ok I tried that and its sdtill not working, someone said I might need Viking Invasion. . . is that true?
