How to install patch

When I extract it to folder and try to install it, I get an error message. The readme has no directions on installation and most patches usually do. Please help.

Oh yea, this is the 1.2 patch for RTW

You should do this:

Uninstall RTW.

Install RTW.

Get the patch.

Doubleclick on it.

Just keep clicking "Next"

Done.

My problem is I installed it first and then reinstalled the game but I couldn't install the patch again.

I fixed the registry but it still didn't work. What should i do?

I have a different problem with the patch. When I try to play the game after installing the patch it tells me to insert the correct CD, despite the fact that the CD is already there. I've uninstalled the game - reloaded it - played the game ok. Reinstalled patch - and again - it asks for the CD to be installed when I try to play.

Anyone else come across this as an issue?

Hmmm.... I didn't uninstall RTW, and yet I can see rebels attacking my weak units or enemy fleets blockading my ports (new since patch, right?).
Perhaps this was just a lucky shot then? :huh:

nah, I just said to uninstall because then it's a sure thing, usually what you did will work too
