Effect of Rome capture on Roman factions

It's my first game where I actually took Rome. Mostly I play Eastern factions, and declare myself the winner well before I reach Rome. But playing as the Greeks, I ended up taking Rome. That wiped the SPQR out.

What is the SPQR's relationship with the Senate? Does the Senate still exist? Are the Roman factions all still steadfast allies?

I think he means if you're some barbaric evil *foreign* conquerors who managed to sack the proudest city in the world and destroy the SPQR faction, are the Romans still receive their senate offices (with new ones assigned) and are they still unbreakable allies..

1. I think they won't recieve new offices but the old ones retains. (I think, so correct me if I'm wrong.)
2. The Romans will be friends till the end (very bitter end) of each faction if you attack before the civil war (most likely.)

I took Rome as the greeks to, the Roman empire such as it was was weak and had no large armies but once the Senate was destroyed you can see on the tables Roman production sky rocketed and the romans worked tirelessly to take the city back, if anything taking Rome made my situation far worse as the Romans went nuts training massive armies and arenow a strong rival to me.

Man taking Rome as the Greeks is a popular move... I did it as well, and the Julii went crazy after my blood.

But given I had been comming under constant Roman attack ever since the start of the game when I stubbonly refused to yeild Syracuse, I didn't see any change in their behavior. ~D

At any rate as soon as I invaded Southern Italy though the Julii went from being a weak Roman power to THE major power in a few turns.

Still I'll show them whose boss... My Spartans look better in RED!! :duel:

Yeh, I got that in my Carthage campaign.
Killed off Scipii, booted Brutii off Italy & conquored Rome with only piddly little Julii armies around the northern border & then suddenly there's three full stacks of Julii surrounding my main army :duel:

I captured rome very soon (shamelessly exployting AIweakness). Now I am sitting in rome (the only city I have near or far, I play egypt) and scipii and julii have gone crazy. I am besieged constantly. Once in 10 turns I get to retrain my garrison.
It`s great.

Playing Germania, I had taken out the Julli and was at war with SPQR.

They bribed some of my home cities. Then I took Rome.

I kept getting their diplomat offering a ceasefire for the retun of Rome.

The Brutti fought hard, but then they ended up bribing my cities as well...though I then owned theirs.

Interestingly, the Scippi are very, very quiet after I took Capua.
