I am playing my first game with the 1.2 patch as the Brits at very hard, very hard. It is summer of 244BC and no children have ever been born to my faction in this game. I have 7 daughters/daughters-in-law in generation 3, all of whom have living husbands and have had for a number of years. Their ages are: 26,31,33,21,21,19,and 44. I have 11 male family members all over 16 -- the 4 original plus 7 more. I control 11 provinces -- not that that should control childbirths!

What the heck is going on here???

I noticed that with 1.2 I also got loads of girls for the third generation.

playing as Germans, one general had a witch as retinue, which makes him more likely to have children.

for your problem, i would suggest takilg a captain out and getting as many heroic victories as possible (3 should be enough) until he is adopted into the family as man of the hour (or if he is good enough to marry a daughter)

Conquer more provinces. The game tries to let you have ~1 family member for each province. So if you get more provinces automatically more children will be born.

well i have 40 provinces and about 25 family members so i'm 15 short.
i also have to get used to it that they show up in their fathers city.

Don't worry. This tends to happen. You go for ages without any family members being born/adopted, and then suddenly you get ten at once.
