I have to admit I would like to see London get it. It will be good for London - the aras where it will be held needs urgent treatment and it will get it with the Olympics coming here. Definately London.

The Major Problem with London's bid will be transport. I was at Twickenham this weekend for the England v France match and the Train system is a shambles. But I agree that the Olymics would be great for rejuvinating some of the more rundown areas of London.

I'd like to see a country that hasn't hosted the Olympics host it in 2012.

madrid so it´s cheaper for me to go see them ~D

Paris. Duh! I'm travelling in front of the Stade de France every time I'm going to work ~:) . WC98 was cool, I remember that day when Saint-Denis was full of Scots in kilts. Way cool

USA had the games in 84 & 96, maybe not again?
Spain had it in 92, but they're efficient anyways.

Madrid, because I may go there in 2012 ~D

Moscow - after so many countries boycotting the 1980 Games it would be nice to see some real Olympics in that city.

But I guess it is highly unlikely that Moscow gets this one

Paris. Only because it's my favorite place out of the five listed (although I haven't been to either Madrid or Moscow).

I was in London a fortnight ago and I saw a sticker on the tube saying “London 2012”.
I thought to myself; why not? Let’s give them the Olympics…

voted moscow, but i'd like to see paris get them too. usa doesn't need them again so soon, nor spain. london just doesn't strike me as a good location for the olympics. paris is a great city for an event like that, and moscow deserves it more than the others, for the reason ser clegane mentioned.

I was hoping a German city would be up there, but I have to go with London or Moscow.

London

The Olympics hasn't been to Britain for ages, and it's about time it was held in a nice cold, wet country, it might give our athletes a chance for once ~D

If we did get it though in 2012, I'd hope to see Rugby on the list of events, and I'd hope we (UK) would manage to enter a football team too, we haven't since the 70s I believe.

Baghdad.

I would agree with Dave, but within the poll options I would go with London.

Why?

1. Get it out of the US and far away from me
2. The US just had it and London is London, it deserves it, England is a great place.

England is a great place.

I agree, I also voted London.

I voted London since Baghdad wasn't an option. How rainy is it there during the Summer, that would be my main concern. Also, would they make cricket an event?

Anywhere except London, since I don't want to be paying for it for the next 30 years in my council tax thank you very much.

Madrid. I think they need some heads up there. And I like the city more than I like London. And besides, who doesnt want olimpic games at 45 degrees Celcius?
Thats for real men. ~D

I don't live there but from what i've heard I'd have to agree.
Honestly? Moscow. Why? Because I hate the olympics and in Moscow the athletes would freeze their ****s off. ~:)

Alexander the Pretty Good

Definitely NOT New York.

Why? I live in New Jersey. It would be a complete mess. The whole tristate area would grind to a halt. And if you think that's exaggeration, you'd be right. But not by as much as you think.

Never mind the incredible job security would have to do. That's like painting a target flag on all the stadiums while blaring "Please shoot and or bomb us now!" :dizzy2:

Capo, do you really think it's "freezing" in Moscow in July and August?

And why do you hate the Olympics?

i think they should be in .....
Auckland, give those kiwis a go, they'll kick everyones arse at one day cricket
out of the choices i think,
either paris or madrid, then the next one in moscow, then maybe later london, or rather we should have every olympics in either rio or some other 3rd world city.
thanks,
dizzy

[QUOTE=Goofball]Capo, do you really think it's "freezing" in Moscow in July and August?

It can Hit 40+ Degrees in Moscow in the summer months!!

Some interesting opinions, But i think Greece showed that the Heat in some locations can give an unfair advantage to competitors used to hot condidtions (Anyone remeber Radcliff?). A temperate climate would level the playing field for all involved.

There could be some interesting new events if it was held in Baghdad!!

I think the Olympics are boring as well....... But London deserves one, come on we had one in Utah recently and hosted another in the 90's we have had more thanb our fair share.

We=The US.

Olympics are no more Olympics. The last true one was Seul 1988.

mouz what makes you say that ?

over useage of illegal performance enhancing drugs ?

to much technology ?

seoul olympics were paticularly good ?

as you can see random guesswork here...

i'd have to agree with capo the oylmpics are boring, the 100m mens race is the highlight, only have to watch it for 10 seconds, and the womens vollyball is never nearly as good as i imagine.

voted london because im british and it'd be nice for us to build all those extra facilities.

Dunno... Maybe because olympic sports are no more regarded that seriously by the fat ass guys. I have the feeling that they become more and more customary each time. The so called sports of big marketing override them heavily and people no more really care about olympic medals... Maybe it's just me but that's how it seems to me.

Seul was pretty good AFAICR... I was a kid by then, don't remember any details, but watching and enjoying it. ~:)
