Can I make a unit training sequence to 0 times and create large armies in one city in one turn? (like retraining.)

Like this:
*stat_cost 1, 330, 110, 40, 50, 330*

to
*stat_cost 0, 330, 110, 40, 50, 330*

I tried before but it's CTD right after the Activision page.

Help please ~ :embarassed: ~

I have tried something similar to your modification and it works. Make sure you have not modded anything else, make sure you have the spacing right (it is several spaces after the stat_cost line, not a tab character).

It should work.

There are a number of mods for this floating around, usually under the title of Mass Conscription or something similar...

I have done this my self (exactly as per the first post and it appears to work fine. I modded so that any unit available in a Large Town or below had a zero build time.

I would like to broaden the discussion if the orginial poster does not mind and ask if beleive general believe this adds playability to the game?? I ask because from my observations of playing the modded game I do not think the AI makes use of the build queues...

I would agree with Bob the Insane. I do not think the AI takes advantage of the queues. But SPQR mod players seem to think it does (they report large stack battles) . I have not played SPQR myself.

I still think it adds to playability for the human player, if balanced by appropriate cost. I intend to make a "Presto" mod where you have 2 versions of all units: one normal recruit time and cost, and one zero recruit time and much higher cost (4-5X more). When you get insanely rich in the late game, you can then spend that money on mass producing armies and actually finish the darn game, without resorting to mass bribery.

I also plan on making a similar mod for buildings (1 year build time in exchange of 5-10X the cost).
