Hello,

Im confused about the number of turns a city can hold out before surrender.

All of my towns that have been under siege, i think four so far, could have lasted a minimum of 6 turns before surrender. But, none of them has gone more than 3 turns without standing up and having to face the attacker.

I keep one army in the area of my core cities, they can make it to any of them before 4 turns. But I never make it there, my small guarrison is forced into battle way before i even get there.

Am I reading the defenition of "turns until surrender" wrong?

Any help greatly appreciated,
RT

that's the amount of turns the city can last till they are starved and surrender.
but if the forces are equally balanced they won't wait till that time is there

Turns until surrender means the number of turns before the enemy captures the city without a fight. If the enemy has siege equipment, they can force a fight any turn.

maybe i explained it wrong.

its my city under siege. its automanaged with just a few peasants as guarrison.

i was assuming it would be up to me if i wanted to get there with another army within the six turns to attack from outside the walls. but the AI always makes my peasants fight before i can get there and i lose the city.

thanks for replying,
