Now that I've written that it seems a liuttle childish. Hah, we all have our moments.
I like to take out the Romans cause they are so freaking superior when talking to you and their civilization seems to be in pole position for world supremacy. Ahhhh, the sweet sound of Roman dreams coming crashing down...

Romans. They always stand in the way of my glorious Greek empire. So much so, that i had to instigate the building of a huge chain of forts, stretching across my borders. Now that i'm protected, i can build up 10 mighty armies to march up and down the italian peninsula. Then, i shall destroy the julii empire in gaul and iberia!! Then we'll see who's the daddy!! I also hate the romans because they seem to be the only fraction that actually get anywhere, so the game gets repetitive. Personally, i would like to see a mod where history took a different path, and the romans had been beaten by invaders in its early history. It would make for an interesting game...

The Macedonians. I've been playing a lot in the Greek area (Thrace, Greece and Brutii), and the Macedonians are always trouble. Stacks full of Lancers aren't something that you can casually ignore, either.

Parthia. They have so many damn horse archers, they are nearly impssible to defeat, especially when you have limited cavalry of your own.

Romans, becuase in many ways they are the best faction and thus I must humble them with heroic victories due to massive cavalry flanking or just plain crazy warriors too hopped up on vodka or any other alcoholic beverage to think of fear!

Egypt. They always beat the crap out of the Seleucids. I ended up reimbursing the Seleucids for damn near 50000 denarii just so the Egyptians didn't become a superpower. Velite gladiators humble them nicely though :duel:

And bhruic, I disagree, IMO lancers are the most worthless units of all time, at least in the hands of the AI, because they drop like flies.

I never have a problem with lancers, course I always bring along heavy cavalry or put phalanxes in boxes or circles to prevent any flanking. Lancers are god awful in my opinion, Companions and Cataphracts easily defeat them with anti cavalry cavalry charges and they are not able to hold a position against any sort of professional soldier, but in the right conditions I suppose they could theoretically piss me off.....
Rome pisses me off with their coordinated hatred of me whenever I attack one of them. Oh well I did better than Hitler, had a three front war and won....

Egypt. I hate them, always crushing everything, no matter which faction I go as I always build a good army led by my best general and walk them all the way to the Eggies homelands crusade style just to give the smackdown on them.

Also barbarians and Hellenistic civilisations are nice. Their perfect for 'heroic victories'. Especially since they got very unbalanced armies.

Oh I also like beating up barbarians, because after beating my way past the damned Romans they are a nice break from hard battles. 300 to 1500? No problem, bring up the elite uber infantry from the Roman Wars and let them flee!

Most of all the Bloody Romans, with their big noses and straight roads. Hate them. They always block my dreams of a great Hellenic empire.

After the Romans though it would have to be Egypt with their god awful units, terrible accents and delusional diplomats who demand I become their protectorate even when Egypt are down to owning just one province against the great Silver Empire!!

I am almost never annoyed by Egypt for some reason, they are always a speed bump early or late game. I just roll over their armies and get annoyed by their insane feeling of superiority after each defeat. But they are probably one of the harder factions, they still fall relatively quickly. But I have never played a game where they were not A) Very far away or B) Right next door from the beginning. It may be harder if they are a medium distance away and have time to build up but fight me before I gain complete superiority.

Oh, I forgot another faction group I dislike fighting, the HA factions. I hate having to fight horse archers. I like mobile armies and battles but HA take it too far and I prefer to have my heavy infantry have some use. Always have to buy HA mercs...
