I have had lots of fun battles, many involving bridges and organ guns.
After writing what i written below in "What faction pisses you of the most" i figure i create a favorite battle thread.

I was playing this grand game as HRE. I dominate middle europe and the italian boot except for one prov where i let the pope reside in peace also the entire holy land is taken and converted. Then England and Spain attacks me and these guys are strong. But all the sudden the pope excommincates me for figthing this defensive war. On top of thing the hungarians jump on me as well. However in a grand battle i obliterated them. They attacked a hilly prov where i massed by forces in a box formation. The defence held and my counter-attack devestated their forces. I managed to kill their king and all of his heirs who also was in that battle. A hard battle indeed but one of the most fun to play.

I also had one as England battle the Almohads. I had huge parts of Europe. The Novogrods and Almhohads where making life hard for me. Now thoues two where also the ones with more victory points than me so they needed to be put down or at least i needed to conquer alot. Anyways to the battle.
I had very little defence in the attacked province and i was heavily outnumbered. It was a two bridged hilly map. I group the few troops i have around the bridges and keep the very few cavalry in reserve for counterattacks. On a hill i place my catapult and my general. As i start and see the enemy line-upp my reaction was like: :help: :end: As the battle begin i order my catapult to open fire on the enemy general (their king too). First shoot a miss and on the second the stone craches into the kings group killing him and 4 of his soldiers. HURRAY! The enemy began to break upp so i charged and won the battle. :charge:

Looking foreward to hearing you stories.

Mine is a recent and not so heroic but rather interesting one.

English attack thru the Channel to Flanders where I (the Hungarians) had only token forces. I was huge and I would not risk war in the place of England.
My forces were weak: 2 HA, 2 Militia S (one of them is the 1* general), 6 Jobbagy, 3 Archer.
The English had zillions of archers, 2 Militia S (also one of them is the 3* leader), 2 HA, 1 Spear, 1 Feudal S and like. I run around with my HA, in the hope of weakening the enemy and I also manage to separate an archer unit. Charge with the HA... and HA lose! And run... A little later I charge the other HA and that runs again... Damn that usually works... Basically I am sure that I lost at that point. Superior forces, superior general, and no hill... I am done. My forces stand on the far end of the battlefield on a small (very small, indeed!) patch of risen land. It is like 5 meter high compared to the size of men in units.

If I were AI, just soak everything with arrows, if anything attack then concentrate on that and after just charge.

Well... the AI general charged alone against my Jobbagy-s. I felt that is the turning point of the battle: if I can kill the general I might stand a chance. All of the Jobbagy were throwing javelins on the enemy general's MS except one that was meleeing and wavering. Archers also did their part. And the general was killed, the unit ran.

There was another MS charge but it flee, also. I had still some ammo and waited for the next wave of attack... which did not happen. The rest of the English army turned around and marched off the battlefield... in order and in formation. I never saw something like that...
