I find it so annoying to see cavalry simply charge straight through triarii units and rout them. It is also not very helpful to have to form them up every single battle so they do not get beaten too easily.
This is my solution
Simply change their formation entry to this.
formation 1, 2, 2, 2, 5, square
This vastly improves their battle performance with no actual stats change. They form up in five ranks instead of three so that they can face cavalry head on. They now use about the same unit width as principes and hastati.
