Let's see...

"Hayreddin Barbarossa" returns this (http://www.ee.bilkent.edu.tr/%7Ehistory/Pictures2/ul153.jpg) as the first. Guess what comes second?

http://thelib.com/homepage/webusers/Hayreddin%20Barbarossa/HBbay02.gif

Also this:

http://www.thelib.com/gallery/albums/userpics/hb_100x100.gif

"Mouzafphaerre" fetches this (http://www.tiltedmill.com/forums/images/avatars/cotn/misc/eye.gif), which is the firmware avatar I selected for use at the Tilted Mill (Children of the Nile) forum.

Remove the bastardization and "Muzaffer" hits this (http://www.sufism.20m.com/_borders/rhamuzafferozak.jpg), which is the photograph of a deceased Islamic scholar and sufi master, also a friend of my father's. (No, Mouzafphaerre doesn't have anything to do with that Muzaffer or any particular one.)

"Mao Dun" is also a renowned Chinese poet (firstly a Xiong Nu monarch) and the first hit is about him:

http://images.qianlong.com/mmsource/images/2004/04/28/bplh040428029.jpg

"Mao Dun of the Xiong Nu" is fruitless. Xiong Nu alone brings the map of the Xiong Nu domain:

http://www.allempires.com/empires/xiongnu/xiongnu_map1.jpg

Yeah well... Nothing much interesting comes up.

Which name of mine? Muzaffer? It means triumphant in Arabic. (مضفر) The only Albanian I know is this:
Nese kie shtet ke fe ke iman; nese s'kie shtet s'ke fe s'ke iman.and of course "besa". ~;) I have several friends with varying degrees of Tosk blood in them but unfortunately none that can speak the language itself.

Well are you Turkish?Good morning. ~:)
Muzafir heapens to sound turkishAh, I see... That's "misāfir" also of Arabic descent. (مسافر ― guest, visitor but also traveller, stranger)
LOL besa means beleaf right?Don't know precisely but they use it when they swear an oath, so it sounds reasonable.

I invented Muzaffer as Muzaffer Postal (triumphant boot) when I was playing a very primitive TotalWar predecessor named World Empire nearly a decade ago. You were assuming the role of a general to conquer the -then- modern world and this sounded funny to me. Then I continued to use its shortened form and later on decided to bastardize its spelling. ~ It went through various forms including Mozafphèrre (http://seadogs.bethsoft.com/forums/index.php?showuser=3244) but that one ended as a funny side-personality of mine for use in RP stories at Ellaybe Island (http://www.thelib.com/yabbse/index.php).

Ok, the Toffutti is really hitting the spot, Butter Pecan was a great choice. I'm assuming the BJ Cookie is off the table at this point.

But for my own satisfiction could it be either It's Insane This Guy's Taint or Proffessionalism, Pepper and Patriotism?

After that I'm all out of guesses.

Was that show outright canceled? God knows I've seen much worse sketch shows last longer.

Big_John
03-08-2005, 08:59
nope, none of those. oh and check yourself woman, it's better pecan. i wouldn't present any non-vegan tofutti as a parting gift.. sheesh. and yes, the bj cookie will be reserved for another occasion.

i have yet to read the book, but from what i understand they weren't cancelled, bob & david quit because hbo wasn't treating them well (crap promotion, crap scheduling etc) and they got burned out on the amount of work that was involved (especially bob).

mr show was, i my magnificent opinion, the greatest sketch comedy show ever. you should buy the dvds, the commentary is generally quite funny, and they talk about the problems they had with hbo every once in a while. i don't think it was a 'pride thing' per se, but who knows. i do know it sounds like bob really worked himself to the bone putting the shows together. i've seen a couple of episodes of arrested development, and no they weren't very good.

oh, btw, the actual quote is, "see the country is like the cat, and the spilled milk is like your relatives". it's from the opening of the 8th episode of the 4th season, "like chickens... delicious chickens".

My supererorgatory-at-this-point opinion absolutely coincides with your's on best sketch comedy show ever, but then again, I hate all of those shows except for maybe Kids in the Hall. I like Cross' stand up a bit (I'd like it more if he wasn't so politically flamboyant) but Bob was always the one who had me in stitches.

Honestly, I was gonna guess Chickens. Any post now, I was. Really.
