I am not looking for major mods to units and settlements. I am interested in the repairs many of you have done to just "fix" some obivious play hindering bugs in Ver. 1.2. I see there is a Community 1.2.1 patch available on TW Center. Have any of you looked at something like this? This one even has an installer for those of us, me included, who don't want to mess with individual file changing. Or, is there something like that here that is the same idea? I guess I am looking for a "WesMod" that is an all in one to cure the major ills, since CA is probably not going to do much more before an "expansion".

I guess Cure is the wrong word, maybe make that - more playable...

We are having a go at this over in the Ludus Magna forum:

Research: Fixing the trait bugs (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?t=44048)
Research: Fixes for bugs in the unit file (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?t=44097)

We are not attempting to "mod" the game, just fix things which the consensus of the community consider bona fide bugs.

Whew... I read thru some of those and I guess you lost me... I get about a half hour a day to play the game and read these posts.

But, I did mention a Community patch on tw center and this is what it does:
=====================================
Technical:
1. Added installer that will back up all your files and allow quick'n'painless uninstalation of the mod

Bug fixes:
1. Seleucids can no longer recruit Armoured Elephants in provinces with no elephants resource.
2. Spanish can now recruit Long Shield Cavalery.
3. Armenia has all the mercenaries they should have.
4. Praetorian infrantry can no longer be recruited before the reforms.
5. The game uses correct skin for Spanish Generals (no more blue ones!).
6. Thrace: Phalanx Pikemen no longer disappear from building list after reaching last two levels of barracks.
7. Spain can now build Onagers in Campaign, like in custom battles
8. Pontus' and Scythian Generals get upgraded after the reforms.
9. Horse Archers will now behave correctly during skirmishing.
10.Raised slightly(really!) stats and custom battle cost for Thracian late general, before was identical to early. Change based on other similiar factions.
11.Spain can recruit Sacred Band Cavalery now.

Balance Changes:
1. Naked Fanatics and Woad Warriors: hit points raised to 2, their number is reducted by half, cost for Naked Fanatics slightly raised. - This is to make purchasing them worthwhile, before they were much worse than Swordsmen and took twice as time to build. The game balance should stay the same, in one unit vs. one unit combat they should behave the same.
2. Tweak Campaign AI to purchase better suited units for a given faction.
3. Spanish Mercenaries made a bit tougher - This is to allow Carthage to relay more on mercenaries as they should.
4. Roman Generals made less overpowering to reflect lack of heavy cavalery in Roman Army.
5. Slightly tweaked combat morale system to make it more realistic/challenging.

Additions:
1. Incorporated All Factions Mod and made it 1.2 compatible
2. Incorporated CVP 1.1

Known Issues:
1.Horse Archers and similliar units will use javelin corsor instead of bow, it does not affect game play, they still fire arrows.

Credits:
All Factions - maps - ngr/descriptions - jpinard
Cherry Vanilla Pack - .Spartan, Zrave

1.2.2 plans:
Adding CVP 1.2
Further AI Tweaking

Just in case You can conntact me at nikolaj@poczta.onet.pl
=================================================

The previous parts were done by fornamed individuals and I left their verbatum comments and email addresses as is.

Sounds like it wonders into "mod" territory, which is by no means a criticism, it's just not the aim of the projects above.

I know these threads a bit heavy on details at the moment, but eventually the fixes in that thread will be collated into any easily applied "patch".
