I control Genoa as the Danish. It's an isolated land I occupy received through a nice amphibious assualt. Anyway, I am currently at war with the Spanish and they have a rather large crusade moving towards Serbia. They could have jumped from Provence but decided to move into Milan, I guess to steal some more troops from the English.

Here's my questions:

1) Will they come to Genoa looking for my troops if I am already at war with the faction that started the Crusade? Obviously it's no big deal to refuse them entry because I am already at war, but the last thing I need right now is an excommunication considering I just ceased fire with almost the entire world.

2) If yes, do you think they will swing down to Genoa or keep moving east towards Serbia.

Big problem is that zeal is 99% in Genoa right now :furious3: So I will lose a lot of troops which are desperately needed because they are so cut off.

The crusade will path towards it's objective - so there is a good chance it will try to cross your province. If you refuse entry you will be excommed and you will probably have to fight the crusade troops. If you allow them passage and leave your good troops in the province then a lot of them will join the crusade and be lost to you. You could try to move any good troops out of the province while the crusade is approaching and then put them back later, but this is tricky.

It's up to you - personally, I tend to refuse crusaders passage on principle. Take a look at how old the Pope or your King is - if either is getting up there then the excomm won't last long anyways.
