I read some sad news in the paper while at work today.

Tommy Vance, ex Radio 1 DJ, has died of a stroke at the age of 63. I remember listening to the Friday night rock show when I was a teenager, and Tommy was a brilliant DJ (at least in my opinion). It has brought back a lot of good memories of my friends, my brother and me listening to the show together, and he introduced us, through his show, to a wide range of rock/metal groups, both new and established.

So I would just like to offer my condolences to his family and friends, and to say, rest in peace Tommy, you were great.

In case anyone wants to read a bit more, here is the news as reported on the BBC news site.

By the way, if anybody has seen my post of this in a Forum on any other sites, I am sorry for repeating my self. Also, I am sorry if it doesn't belong in this Forum, and if so, please move it to the correct one.

May he rest in peace, and rock the sox off anyone he meets, wherever he is.

God's own rock DJ, IMHO. The real McCoy.
