OK - I mentioned this once before and was told I must have been mistaken, but it's happened again. The Pope offered me the hand of his daughter in marriage! Now, I thought Pope's weren't supposed to have princesses, but it happens every time I replay the saved turn. Anybody else find this?
- As an aside, is there an easy way to make a screenshot from within the game? I mean, one of the F-keys or something?
TIA,

Historically the pope has had offspring ... some were very nasty people, but I have never seen this in game.

Accepting would make you the Pope's son-in-law though.
That's got to be tough.
Anyway, no I've never seen a papal princess. Of a papal bishop, ironically enough. But I more or less ignore strategic agents anyway

I think F2 is the screenshot key (too long ago I took a screenshot last, it's one of the F keys for certain and not F1). The screenshots gets collected in the TGA folder.
Procrustes, running any mods, and are you certain that it isn't another faction's colours? AFAIK it's a name bug for some factions, so the wrong faction name will show up, when offering marriage.

Thanks, folks - I figured it out. Ironside - you got me on the right track. The offer came from the "King of the Papal States" - i.e. the Sicilians, not the Pope. I should have looked more closely at the flag instead of just reading the text. Didn't realize that the Sicilian King carries that title, even when he doesn't posses anything besides Sicily and Naples. (And thanks for the F2 thing - turns out that I have a whole bunch of screen shots in there I didn't even know I'd made!)
So I guess the Pope doesn't have kids in this game. Too bad, it was kinda funny.
Thanks again,

Ive always wondered why it says "king of the papal states" when referring to the sicilian king I guess its just a bug.
Despite popes not supposed to have kids im sure some will have lets remember some popes were extremely militant and were as dirty as most monrachs so kids wouldnt be any worse a sin than some popes had commited.

I've seen something similar. Everytime I get a marriage proposal from the people Novogrod it's signed with "leader of the golden khanate" or something along those lines. Is this just sloppiness coming from the developpers? ~
