View Full Version : trouble with SPQR mod

i dowloaded this mod and i love it, but for some reason my computer freezes in mid turn at around 258 bc. Any one know what would cause this or know how i can prevent this, ive allready reinstalled it and it did it again.

Steve did you following these proceedures.

1. Fresh Install of Rome total war
2. Installed the 1.2 patch from CA
3. Played Prologue first.
4. Installed SPQR

Also please make sure you download of SPQR is 39.4mb Because your install may be corrupted, This sounds like a system issue, but it could be something else. I do know its not a bug or SPQR mod related as a problem that is.

I hope this helps. SPQR does put stress on a system and can cause some systems performance issues.

i di all of those, but when i reinstalled my game there was no need to play the prologue , all the campaign options where allready open. also i notice there is allready 3 different SPQR i can download which includes the mirror file. What does the mirror files do and is it nessecarry for me to download the spqr music? perhaps that would help with things if i didnt download that?

Lol the different links are for different locations. All the same SPQR.

Also when you reinstall you need to Uninstall RTW and delete the RTW directory then reinstall. I really do think your RTW is corrupted. Your problem sounds like a file corruption somewhere before install SPQR and reinstalling did you use ANY mods this will help to find out how to help you.

at one point i did have the historical battle mod but i havent reinstalled that for awhile, that also caused problems.

I went in to my cd drive and erased any files that had anything to do with RTW and then reinstalled and followed your process and now the game seems to be working fine with the mod.Which is great by the way and i cant imagine now playing the game with out it.Cant wait untill your next mod, if u have any plans on doing so, it seems like changes like this is about the only thing that keeps the game intresting,perhaps its almost time for an expansion pack?

Glad you got it working, 99% of the time there is something wrong with the install or other mods that cause problems, UNless there are bugs in the mod, then its the mods fault, but thoseare usually obvious.
