View Full Version : Victory Conditions
Hey was just wondering is there any way to change the victory conditions of the game so it allows you to keep playing after you capture rome and 50 provinces, like in medieval when u conquered 66%, or is this hard coded in to the game. As it stands i currently have to hold off taking rome so as to extend the game as long as possible and i want to kill those damn roman senators lol

There is no 'official' way to do it, like there is no text file. But I believe that if you quicksave when the victory scroll appears, then re-load, you can play on even after you've won.
hmm might have to give that one a try it would be a lot less of a drain on my resources to just take rome then keep playing rather than having to keep the senate in check. i have several games saved at a winning point so i will try wot u suggest and let you know if i have any sucess. cheers

with the patch 1.2 you can choose to contineu the campaign (atleast a long campaign)
This is tantalizing, to say the least:
Will it be possible to mod in MTW-style 'glory goals', or at least (heavily) mod the victory conditions of Rome?
'Glory Goals' not, but you can change the victory conditions. They are in the descr_strat.txt file, near the top. There are a bunch of undocumented ones which do not involve becoming emperor, for campaigns where it is not appropriate. I'll look into digging out the exact syntax.

But the information never appeared....

There exist at least six victory conditions that I've found in the descr_ files. it has been a long time ago but they do exist. I'm not sure how they apply to the campaign, because I might have seen them in the script files, so I never tried to make them work, but they can be found by someone with some diligence, and given a shot..
