Gah!

After six months of struggle, we are bringing our Clans Campaign to an end.

You can take a look at the website here:
http://www.campaign.club.tip.nl/

Being reduced to only two participating Clans, we have voted to discontinue play and award the Victory to:

Clan Elite Force.

With the largest holding of provinces and a history of many victories, this Clan stands tall among the participants of the STW community with this great achievement.

Of particular note are HARALD and FOGOLIN, who, in their many posts here at the forum, provided the leadership to take their Clan to the end.

The Gamemaster also wishes to honour:

Les Marechaux de Napoleon,

who did not give up even when reduced to a very small holding of land partway through the game. You may note that the Marechaux made an extra effort in this game, having very few players who understood english sufficiently to understand all the rules and posts in their original language.

To remind you of the entire list of participants from the beginning, we also have:

The Grey Wolves
Ikebana
The Rusty Cowboys
Shingi Clan
Clan Luna Rossa
Clan Kenchikuka
Rage Clan
Torii Aku
Shades of Shogun
Yagyu Clan
Ninja of Hattori
True Samurais; and
Sommo Clan

participating in our game.

Of the eight players entering the game for the Ronin competition, we find

Orker Ii

the winner with a total booty of 2880 koku.

Also completing the campaign in the Ronin competition were:

Hamhock Toda with 1560 koku (and the "Krast's Favourite Ally" prize); and
Fucy Ii with 660 koku.

Ronin participants who left during the course of the game included:

Jemasze
MajorDump
WarlordLegend
Youssof; and
JerichoPrime

Please also note the contributions of CeltiberoSkullXIII, who gave us the finely coloured maps for the first turns of the game, Magyarkhan for the web hosting, LionGazoz for his excellent work as gamemaster and Cannon for his work as assistant gamemaster.

The original rules design team included Krast (George Duff), Cannon (Damon Fry), LionGazoz (Aziz Kaba) and Magyarkhan (Joska Paszli). Additional contributors to the rules discussion are too many to name.

Krast also wishes to thank all of the individual participants for taking the time to make this amateur gaming experience come alive.

As a participant up to the time RageClan left the game, as RageKrast this player experienced some of the most powerful, emotional moments in his online gaming life. The battles, fighting for your Clan, and having your teammates depending on you, made each game a more serious, intense and enoyable gaming experience than any other.

Krast invites you to congratulate yourselves for sharing this experience with each other.

Now, on to the next adventure .... Gah!

The campaign has been the best one ever for sure. Kenchi were the top clan, even bigger than the Wolves, until our decline.

Was fun until it lasted. http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif Thanks to those who participated and had fun with us, maybe except that little shameful clan which I don't want to even name.

Hi Tera

According to our historians u declined when we got to your borders...
-------------------------------------
Sorry we had to quit the campaign guys. It just took away so many effort of a few members, esp for Grey Wolf Shingen that once we reached the size of the elite clan we had 12 battles per weekend. We just couldnt keep pace in adminstration all postings and updating of maps, arranging players and stuff.

We have learned a lot about the flaws in the rules, and for sure a much more improved one will be available for TW:M.

Furthermore our Khan of Khans like to bring special thanks to the Marechal clan who kept resisting us to the end and to the Elite clan who had surely the best clanadministrators, esp in the person of Fogolin.

Yep well done all you guys who stayed the course. Unfortunately Shades dipped out rather earlier in the proceedings than I would have hoped. It would have been fun to stick around and fight on with our allies Marechal and Rages...but alas it wasnt to be.Personally I learned a lot of lessons in the second campaign which hopefully I can capitalise on in any future campaigns. Whatever the downside of the administration of the campaign, the battles were some of my most memorable experiences in STW/MI. Hopefully we may all meet again in the future...for now good luck and well done!! http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif

Hello friends,

nice to see so many of you in one thread together

I ve got a phone call from Fogo and he told me the good news! Honestly, I never reckoned with Elite as winners at the campaignstart. But their success (I have to say "their", cause I never supported the clan in the campaing after my leaving as gamemaster)is the result of great efforts of many clan members but especially the efforts of Harald and Fogolin, good job guys!

Congratulations to Paolai as well, he deserved the title, cause he is one of those players, who dont reduces the battles to a "rush & basta" arcade game, but battles with him are always interesting, with much strategy, and I hear Orker alias Paolai proudly saying "veni vidi vici".

Let me thank to all other guys involved in the campaign, too.

Guys, I have lot to do at the moment and I am really missing you, but I hope I will find the right time for playing at least the next generation of TW with you all.

Ciao

Hmmmm....wonder who had the largest empire while the majority of clans were still playing?.....and excluding the 'gifts' that were made by some less than honourable players...

I of course mention this because (always clan promoting!) RAGE had 12/13 lands I think via battle in the early stages.....anybody match this?..btw,this was campaign 2....campaign 1 we could have had about 18 but we spared the Fears....after a fantastic bit of politics by Krast and myself involving NoFear, Elite and Shades....remember the multi card attack....took weeks and about 50 e-mails to co-ordinate..(Magyar got blamed lol)..but I must say it had a 'knock on' effect....due to us siding with Fear in the end (and basically stopping the onslaught of card attacks that Monsta felt unfair) Elite did not trust us until late in campaign 2.....and we had a 'war' with NoFear for about 6-12 months lol....all good fun.

in the future people will ask what happened....and wish they had the chance to fight in such a conflict....we can say "we were there" and "how many units did he field?"....etc etc.

Yep....but we aint gonna tell.....now go and find the evidence.....collect the clues and you may get an answer!

04-11-2002, 20:27
Monsta still believes Rage is the best clan ever... http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/wink.gif Even now they're ^e#d and &uried http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/biggrin.gif

The NoFear vs Rage war was good...altough I admit Rage was a better clan...but I do remind you who was the largest and most powerful clan in the campaign before the great depression... :O

hmmm we are always ready for a clan war jousting, perhaps we should invent a clan war joust like this

5 vs 5 players playing 1 vs 1 battles , eliminating till none is left

each battle won brings 1 point

and

2 teams of 2 players playing 2 vs 2 battles, eliminating till none is left

each battle won brings 3 points

1 team of 3 players playing a 3 vs 3

the battle won brings 5 points

each battle is played as attacker and defender. After each 2 battles count the armies kokuvalue and the lowest score team is eliminated

------------

so if we create a good and realistic setting, we also can put it on teh org and use it for every clanwar campaign...

who thinks this has soem future to create?

RageMonsta
04-12-2002, 02:00
Yes Magyar maybe something along those lines...

Tera.....you mean Kenchi...hmmm did that involve Hattori in some way or that other fake clan...?

I was refering to battle gains

Rage dead?....4 members on last time I played....and watch the skys for new blood coming through.....oh yes btw old friend...Rage are the oldest clan now....original members...not replacements....self promotion is not a bad thing really is it? http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/biggrin.gif

Lord Krast calls for 'WAR' unless Tera says 'sorry' in this forum 5 times and also types......'I like fluffy bunnys'.....we demand appeasement. http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/mad.gif

I think Elmo is just 'old git face' not sure that is anything to do with STW http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/biggrin.gif

The oldest player in age I think is CanCritter he is something like 60.

The longest active player...hmmmmm could be my old friend and horse thief Magy.

04-12-2002, 18:42
lol, my evil plan to revive the "old" spirits succeeded http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/biggrin.gif

And btw, I am an original Kenchi myself, and Momotaro now even came back...

Anyway, GL great rage-clan http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/tongue.gif

i dont think the can is the longest active player, according to our clanhistorians he entered online just a few hours he opened his eyes (to look onto the game-cd), so that must be around 29th june 2002.

04-13-2002, 01:35
Ah yes Monsta...that's not the right way to write your clan name. Where is the subscript code when you need it?!?!? http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/biggrin.gif
