First you need to know some of the basics.

Each general has a max of 4 sons/adoptees/daughters after that they can have no more. This applies to wether they are dead or alive.

Faction leaders/hiers take a lot of asassins for a successful attempt. # 2 they are already old more than likely.

So the trick is to go after the young ones. Why you ask? Because more than likely they have 3-4 slots available for adotion/babies.

Now that you have killed off all the young ones, you cut off thier bloodline due to the fact more than likely the elders have already used up there 4 slots avail to them.

Once you cut off family reproduction you can now leave them be or go in and finish the job with your highly trained asassins.

And how do I know this, let me just the A.I. with a good line of asassins is'nt pretty. And nothing like seeing a faction leader and no heirs with all 4 slots used up sitting there in a city. knowing the inevitable to come.

Barring family members brought in by bribery the most children one of my family members has had born to him was about 6 or 8. So your whole theory is built on a flawed concept that a general can only have 4 offspring. You people need to play factions other than a Roman one. The breeding rate of Romans is very low, the get at most 4 kids. While I've had Seleucid and Parthian familys where the sons each have 5 kids.

It's interesting to note that once I've seen AI Scythian empire cruble due to lack of heirs. And it was not my doing.

They had over 5 terriories, but somehow it seems that Thracians took out of thier leaders.

Needless to say I got one big rebel empire nearby.

Now that is unusual, you would think that the king would at least one adoption attemp before e kicked it. Unless te AI doesn't take aboptions.

i don't tend to accept marriage proposals because the men you get are useless and have no good traits or retinue!
as the egyptians i have 15 spare generals anyway! no worries aboout my bloodline going ~:) ~:)
