First you need to know some of the basics.
Each general has a max of 4 sons/adoptees/daughters after that they can have no more. This applies to wether they are dead or alive.
Faction leaders/hiers take a lot of asassins for a successful attempt. # 2 they are already old more than likely.
So the trick is to go after the young ones. Why you ask? Because more than likely they have 3-4 slots available for adotion/babies.
Now that you have killed off all the young ones, you cut off thier bloodline due to the fact more than likely the elders have already used up there 4 slots avail to them.
Once you cut off family reproduction you can now leave them be or go in and finish the job with your highly trained asassins.
And how do I know this, let me just the A.I. with a good line of asassins is'nt pretty. And nothing like seeing a faction leader and no heirs with all 4 slots used up sitting there in a city. knowing the inevitable to come.
