Even though it seems relatively simple and is ultimately cosmetic, it would be nice if there were a mod adding world maps and descriptions to Non Player Factions. Does anyone have any idea how to edit the description and map of the Numians for example?

The maps and descriptions are easily edited but the problem is that only playable factions appear in the faction selection menu for a given campaign.
To the best of my knowledge, there is no way to change this.

You can add maps and descriptions for non-playable factions, but they will not show up. If you have made all of the factions playable and you want them to have descriptions and maps, then you need to add the descriptions to campaign_descriptions.txt, and add the titles {i.e. YOUR_FACTION_TITLE and YOUR_FACTION_DESCR} to lookup_campaign_descriptions.txt

To edit the maps, go to the "data/world/maps/campaign/imperial_campaign" folder, where you will find several maps called map_FACTION.tga ~Copy one of these maps and rename it for the faction that you want to use it. for example: map_numidia.tga would show up for the numidians.
