Hello all. Dark Throne is a text-based MMORPG that you play through your browser (no down-load/installation required). Fellow Deadmen:

I would not advise picking too many fights at this point, the risk is not worth the $$ you make. Make sure you register your personal link at both the public recruiter and the Deadmen Inc. recruiter. Then make sure you "make your clicks" (yes, all 350 of them) every day, clicking first on the Deadmen recruiter, then on the public recruiter. In return, you will receive about 200 citizens every day over the course of the day. Train most of them to be miners. You don't need a huge army to have high offense/defence scores, but you do need good weapons: longbows for defence and longswords for offense. In the course of my spying, I saw a guy with a very small army, but his offense rating was over 100,000 due to weapons (I am assuming).

It took me a few days to figure all of this out, but since I did, my mining income has gone from 300,000/day to 1,700,000/day over the last two days. Now my strategy is to sit back, train most of my citizens as miners, and spend all of my excess cash on weapons and upgrades. Having said that, I am pretty much a noob at Dark Throne, so everything I have said above may be off base.

when i hit about level 9 or so i began realizing that i was leveling up too fast and that others at my level had more infrastructure and hence much more offensive and defensive power than i did. so i am trying to slow down my leveling and build up my infrastructure. but once i get like 30 turns, i find it very hard to moderate myself and not go raiding.

TWC= Total War Center. The alliance is called TWC Alliance.

I would also recommend upping your mining. I'm pulling in 3mil a day now just from mining. I'm level 8, got their after picking on 0 defense people with lots of money.

My strat is the same as Goofballs: watch the money roll in, up the defense, then offense, attack and level.

I haven't spent much time here this week, and so thought I would pop over as I am off for a few days, and was surprised to find this thread, as I was going to look at the DT one in the front room.

So far the TWC Alliance is doing quite well, and gradually increasing members, and helping each other out. And I must say I am quite enjoying this game. I have just made it to level 17, after about 2 1/2 weeks.

Here are a couple of quick tips.

It's already been said, but use your recruiter clicks as much as possible. You can make 350 a day, and get 1 credit for every click. You can get back up to a max of 250 citizens a day from the recruiter, as other people use theirs and so your credit is used up. So if you click through the max for 5 days, you don't really need to for the last 2 of the week to get your max amount of citizens.

Don't go for a large army of unequipped troops, buy the most expensive upgrades you can at the Armoury for all troops.

I am gradually adding more tips, as I get time, over at wipeout140's site, follow the link in my sig if you want to check them out. Go to the Forum there, and checkout the MMORPG Forum. Also, some of us have posted tips in the TWC DT thread, so check that out as well if you want.

Is there an official .org alliance yet, if so, I would be up for joining it, as the only alliance I have decided to join so far is the TWC one, and you can belong to 3 (none of the other invites have appealed to me).

Okay, after the frenzied addiction-induced obsessive play that usually takes over my life for the first week or so with any new game, I finally got my character up to something resembling respectability:

Daily Income: 6,617,376

Then what do I find out? While reading through the Dark Throne Forum today, I log into the thread discussing the upcoming release of Dark Throne Gold, scheduled for "early 2005."

Then I come across this little tidbit of information:

"All accounts will be reset with the release of Dark Throne Gold."

Any members of the TWC Alliance who don't regularily visit the DT thread over at the TWC, may not have noticed that I have posted a link to a list of alliance members and their recruiter links. If you are not on it, but want your link added, just post it here in this thread, over at the twc, in your profile at DT or pm it to me. I will add it, and anybody who wants to can click their way through the list, giving each of us an extra citizen each, outside of the DarkRecruiter, of which you can gain upto a max of 25 new citizens a day. I am currently clicking my way through the list everyday, and a few times (although not many), others are also doing so.

So at least if you aren't gaining the full 25 from your outside recruiter link, you can gaurantee at least an extra one most (if not everyday) days.

I am still playing, but stopped posting about it here at the .org as it looked like everyone else had got bored of it.

I have finally used up my last 2 alliance slots in the last week and a half. I had joined the TWC Alliance the day I signed up for the game, but just wasn't interested in joining any of the others, but Raistlinn over at the TWC asked if I wanted to join a new clan he had started, and so I joined, with the aim of helping make it an active alliance, which was his original intent. Then a few days ago, The Swordmaster who is also a member of the TWC (although not the alliance), also invited me to join his newly created clan, and so I joined him, as I have got to know him quite well through various Fora we belong to.

I have just moved up to level 31, and will camp a while longer before moving up to level 36. I also signed up for the Omega test, which hopefully will be up and running again soon, and will be reporting back to the various boards I belong to about any changes/additions that have been made/included.

Snowhobbit (and in fact anyone else), if you are an active player, and don't belong to 3 alliances yet, pm me in the game (as Pausanias) or here if you wany an invite to another alliance or two. The black Nishin clan may soon be hiring out our services as mercenaries, so anyone with good spy stats for their level would be an added bonus.

Both only allow a limited section of the board to be seen, with SoH being the most restrictive, but this is for obvious reasons, as we don't want possible enemies checking out our plans, stats, operations etc.

I reset and am staying at level 10 for now - camping out and building up defense and offensive troops.

That and waiting for the stress test for the Omega Version to be done -so I can start on that verision.
