Ok.
Im trying to gather a list of software that Shogun users will apretiate.

for instance

Direct x, (need id guess)
TGA Viewer (for viewing there screen dumps)
Roger willco, (for voice chating)
ViA 4 in 1 Drivers (for via boards)
FakeServ2 (for hosting)
Internet.cfg file ive made (so they can connect to my host)

il also be adding a link for a free fire wall and antivirus.
as well as a internet line speed optimizer,
and a memory clearer, (for dumping unused programs out of ram)

Now are there more things that ppl have needed to use,
or any problems ppl have had that a file of some sort fixed?

As you can probably guess id like to know about anor and all things of this nature. =)

Thanx again

Custom maps and mappacks. There are some huge mappacks available already (here). You could also download and host the official patches, as who knows how long they will be availabe elsewhere. Just some ideas.

I've heard that a program called "Teamspeak" is better than Roger Wilco, but I've never tried it myself (neither, actually).

Agreed on hosting patches!! With one more note: I would suggest strongly that you include in the filename or description whether the patch is for WE/MI, or for regular S:TW. That makes new players' time a lot easier.

And hey, a 1:1 disk image with a drive daemon is much safer than a crack. Nooot that I'd suggest anyone use that sort of method unless your jurisdiction allows you to make a backup copy. Mind you. And especially not when playing other people online. (In that case I'd say if your jurisdiction allows it as above, burn the 1:1 image onto a CD and store it in your safe just in case your original CD breaks.) :saint:

Other software... I'm trying not to get too general here. I'd post links to the major videocard vendors, for upgrading to the latest drivers. Hosting their driver file updates, though, is generally a Bad Idea (tm), worse than toying with the grey-legal area of 1:1 disk images. (Because they tend to outright say you can't do that, which makes it not grey-legal bit just plain illegal.)

The Shogun mappacks should be available form this site's main download area, as are Shogun Mods. Just have to access the website (www.totalwar.org; the forum is a subfunction of the site).

Not anymore m8, sorry. We used to have a site that offered most of what you're putting together, but when the group faded away, the site owner decided to shift his focus to other games.

The .com has patches and official stuff.
